Necro again. And they are not undead. Kinda. The Red Mage job story introduced Nightkin a bloodline from ancient Mhach tained by voidsent blood that can go into OP mode but need lots of aether. Taken from enemies. And you might attack your friends.

Necro again. Please make this happen.
We can't have vampires because we don't even bleed half of the time in this game, lol....sure, they're starting to get bolder now with cutscenes lately. But, back before....
"It looks like you were gravely injured!"
"...Really? Because I don't even see---"
"SILENCE! YOU'RE GRAVELY INJURED."
"...Well, okay, guess I'm gravely injured. But, I'll continue to nod my head silently and walk it off first."

I think this would make a great addition as a playable race.![]()
Learn, explore, and think for yourself. Make your choices, take actions, and let yourself be free.
I feel it may have been mentioned already, but... wouldn't vampires fall into the 'Voidsent' category (like succubi)?
I support this idea, or something like it... We have day and night cycle on this game.
Wouldnt it be great in open world if the player had a little boost if it was night time... maybe an ability that would be available only in night time... something minimal that wouldn’t disturb “balance” between races... like for example, walking speed boost 5%, or increase in mana or tp 5%...
Something very minimal could be that at night time the eyes of the player changed to a different colour like Red. Again something very minimal.
This would be just for open world! Dungeons trials raids pvp.. group content no changes at all
(Just throwing ideas)

This wouldn't mesh with existing lore very well, considering that voidsent are almost universally considered unholy abominations that need to be purged and simply summoning them is considered a crime (Punishable by death to boot, at least in Gridania).
Having direct ties to them (Particularly someone with as much publicity as the WoL) would be a bit of stretch.
So kinda like primals then.
Meanwhile Summoner.
I mean, sure, they made up some reasons why 'your' way of using their power is a-okay, but you can do that with anything if you want to.
Not that vampirism is really necessarily a voidsent theme. Black and White magic are already vampiric in nature, what with them draining the aether, i.e. lifeblood out of the area to fuel their spells. DRK's Syphon Strike and Souleater carry those vibes more prominently, draining stuff from their victims. I don't see any realistic barriers to the concept, but I also think it's somewhat overdone. Next you get werewolves and then werepires and vampolves.
The reason why SMNs can use Egis is the same reason why RDMs can use White and Black magic, while the separate arts are forbidden on their own.
To be fair, when you think 'vampire' you think a distinct set of connotations that is closer to what we you get from voidsent. And those connotations have already been established in lore to be voidsent related via the RDM questline. Mind you, not every leech is a vampire, to put it in broad semantic terms. Not that vampirism is really necessarily a voidsent theme.
