So where exactly is the fun found in fighting the same boss 30 times to get a piece of armor? Would you do the same thing in FFXV?
Have you ever played a Final Fantasy title, or a MMORPG, or any RPG ever (Final Fantasy XV very much included)? There's literally limitless examples of these games where you are forced to farm enemies countless times to get most end game gear.

Why yes I have. These were the low points of the game, to be avoided if possible.
It's also worth noting that the single player games have a pause function. FFXIV does not.
In FFXII I can chain enemies and take breaks as needed without losing my progress. I do not have that luxury in FFXIV.
Then avoid it if you don't like it. But don't complain about what has been a standard in more than a whole genre of games for dozens of years.
You won't get olympic medals if you don't participate in the olympics.
You won't get top tier combat gear if you don't participate in combat content.
You don't see people complain about not getting top tier crafting/gathering gear without having to craft, right? So why is it so hard for you not to feel entitled to get the rewards from a content you don't want to do? That's simply ridiculous.
You don't need it. You just want it. Because you feel entitled to. But you're not.
But I do engage in the content. Just not to the repetition that SE wants me to. Repeating boss fights is lazy development, it doesn't matter if this trope has been around, other games don't bother with it. In Fallout, I fight the boss once and it'll drop all the gear it'll ever drop. You may have fun fighting a bosses again and again and again and again. But I do not share you in your tastes, and I feel like I shouldn't have to. These fights don't get any more exciting after the first few times. Then avoid it if you don't like it. Okay but if a boss dropped everything it owned for you on first kill, there'd be literally no point to going back for the people who do like grinding. Hell, a fight that players are meant to chew on for a good few months now only lasts a day, which ends up making gear stagnation even worse. But I do engage in the content. If you don't fight endgame bosses again and again, you don't need top tier gear meant to fight endgame bosses again and again. But I do engage in the content. Go buy or make crafted gear. That's enough for what you do regarding combat related content.
I'll repeat myself here but here we go: you don't need it, you just want it because you feel entitled to, but you're not.
You do realize that this is a terrible argument and excuse that can be turned around by saying "so where exactly is the fun found in mining the same rock 30 times until you get a decent HQ amount?". Furthermore, bringing a single player game into the conversation of an MMO where both structures of gameplay are RADICALLY DIFFERENT is a bit of a strawman and also not a good argument.
Fun is subjective for everyone and it's a bit selfish to imply that the game strictly caters to what you find fun, rewarding you the same thing that others have worked harder on for less. That's the problem that others seem to have with your logic.
