Why is a level 35 item better than a Primal's loot?

I present to you Anathema and Ifrit's Cudgel.

At level 35, Anathema -- which drops from a soloable mid-rank Notorious Monster -- boasts MP+24, Int+4 and Attack Magic Potency +17.

At 50, Ifrit's Cudgel -- which requires a party of eight and a lot of luck after even winning the battle to obtain -- gives Attack Magic Potency +20 as it's only relevant stat. Sure, it gives Fire Resistance +15 and Additional Effect: Fire Damage. But if played properly, either of those stats should come into play.

So, is there something I'm missing, or is my assessment accurate?

Devs have acknowledged that the caster itemization in 1.19 was a traveshamockery. They probably won't retroactively change it but instead do better with the moogle loot -- at least, that's the hope.

you would think with the class reform and CON/THM having a clear direction now, the moogle weapon would be

CON - high magic healing

THM - high magic damage potency

if not, it will be a huge mistake

Devs already stated that they were most likely going to redo the mage Ifrit weapons.

Getting items for the stats is so temporary, better stuff comes out every 3 months, why bother?
