    You're always gonna find people who find different naming schemes dumb lol. Some prefer the numbers, some prefer the "Fire, Mega Fire, Giga Fire, Tera Fire" etc that the french version of the client (and the Disgaea series) uses, some prefer the -ga -ra -ja suffixes. Point is, its unquantifiable how many people would be happier with the change vs those who wouldn't like it all balanced against those who just don't care...so I doubt they'd ever really look into those changes.

    Since skill bloat is rearing its head again between all role actions being usable next patch and the specter of the next expansion on the horizon, I'd say look at using more ultimate tiers of spells as procs of some kind similar to the way Ruin IV overwrites lesser versions temporarily. Thunders to Burst, Aeros to Tornado, Cure III to Curaja. Physical DPS are a bit harder since they don't have much in the way of tiers, but their 123s could be condensed to a single contextual button(and for the sake of completion, make this separate from dedicated single-skill versions that we have now if people don't want to switch). Though, that'd be mainly for the melees since their proc chains all are designed to fail if you use a skill other than the prepped one. MCH is able to mix and match its procs, so something different would need to be figured out for that.

    Getting back to the main point, yeah, the rest of the ancient magic from XI that we don't currently have: Burst, Flood, Tornado, Quake. If we get a new healer I'd like to see them get Bubble, that was an interesting buff. It'd need some tweaking though so it doesn't completely overshadow other shields.

    Give the option at least? I'm tempted to just make renamed macros for aesthetic reasons, but idk if even single skill macros delay combat.

    And while that may be true I don't know anyone who prefers the Roman numeral system. Not saying they don't exist but if you're gonna use final fantasy spells at leaSt stick to normal ff naming conventions

    I had written a very long post in which I explain the spells I’d like to see in this game.

    As my all time favorite class in any game has always been a necromancer (and this is highly unlikely), I will focus on the core issue:

    There is no elemental system.

    Without element attributes for spells, skills, items and enemies, many spells and other features will never work for this game. If FFXIV wants to move forward this should be the next step. It is true that this favors the metagame, but the metagame will always exist, with or without an elemental system.

    With en elemental system we would have:

    - More tactical battles and not simply based on learning the enemy mechanics.
    - Many spells would make a lot of sense in this game, including skill and spell combos
    - Meaningful summons depending on each battle (for summoner)
    - More interesting items. As some other user said in a post about the flaws of the game, you could completely remove all armors in this game and it wouldn’t matter much

    Freeze is better than Blizzard II...It's damage even with higher cast time is "so-so" (33% higher than Blizzard II per second) rather than "effectively non-existent" and it can be cast at a distance. You can use one in AoE heavy situation while on umbral ice if you happened to turn into it right after the server tick for restoring mana, having to wait all the way for next one. Hey. It's still more damage than single target.

    As for what spell would be nice...Haste, Ultima and...Auto-Life/Reraise...I wouldn't even really mind haste being more for mobility, really, since apparently there are people that think they will always do worse if their cooldowns are lowered...and I guess that Reraise would need to be somewhat tweaked rather than being brought directly, keh. But it could solve the issue of healer is dead -> wipe in difficult four-man content (which then could actually be made without this ridiculous argument).

    Um...They specifically REMOVED elemental system from Final Fantasy XIV. Quoting as the reason the "unfairness" of some classes having advantages or disadvantages against certain foes. Probably they would also say that it's "too complicated" like they do for just about anything else that's not entirely linear.

    I remember Aion had a Cleric exclusive Reraise spell. It was basically a buff you could cast before battle that lasted 30m and would give you the option to Raise yourself after you died. It had a 30m CD so you couldn't "refresh" it after casting, you could also only cast it on yourself, essentially being a fail-safe during solo-content. It would be interesting if either WHM or a new healer got something similar (with maybe a 5-7m CD, hell maybe even 10m so you only use it once on a raid boss), again as a fail-safe just in case you mess up mechanics and it frees your healer buddy from having to raise you or you don't have to force a wipe in 4-man content (without a RDM or SMN).

    As for the -ra, -ga, -ja suffixes vs. numbers. I don't really care either way, the only way it kiiiind of rubs me the wrong way is the inconsistency when BLM has even numbers as AoEs and odd as single target, except Fire IV and Bliz IV; and Miasma II is AoE but SMN skips it all the way to Miasma III...

    These are both just wishful thinking, but:

    Banish as a very low cost and damage (around 70-100 potency, maybe) spell for PLD's to poke things from afar in a low cost manner. Our only two ranged attacks are Holy Spirit, which cost 1/5 of our MP bar a cast. And Shield Lob, which cost 120 TP and has a shorter range then spells. While I know we don't need this I'd enjoy having a low cost ranged option to throw at things in cases where it's easier then running up and smacking them in the face (Eureka NM pop mobs, some NM's in general while low level).

    And of course some kind of battle raise for PLD. Using Eureka again, nothing feels quite as bad as seeing someone K.O.'ed near me shouting for a raise, but not being able to raise on PLD anymore since they changed the cross-class system to the role system. And of course like Banish it's not something we need, just something I want.

    Give Scholar Meltdown, or whatever they named it in XI, but give it to them as an AoE. Broil feels like a single target Meltdown so that's nice at least.

    I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.
