Do you enjoy putting people down so much that you fabricate reasons to do so?
It is true that casters might have a little more of an issue than say a brd or mch, which don't have the casting bars anymore (as we've all complained about that in HW), but all jobs have that issue when you break it down. Being too close in melee form or too far, will end in a knock back and insta-kill since it's a two piece mechanic for the most part. Mages far away and casting, would still need to move, as Rath's speed increases with the target being farther (until phase 2). Most of the player base, regardless of casting spells or being too close (drg animation lock is still a big problem or issue that needs fixing), can end badly for the player. You can look at it as a way of saying "one's easier than another", but I've seen enough melee and tanks die to the same mechanics that a blm and rdm or smn dodged, and have less overall DPS.

So yes, bad players. They come in all forms.

I am not undergrared !!! Healers 370, casters 369, tanks/physical DPS 367 ... the fight doesn’t require any skill or knowledge about how to play properly your class, you just dodge dodge so that’s it. Ergo doesn’t look like a ffxiv content and It take ages to complete and hundred of wipes ...

I thought the fight was fun because it was different. Seemed a lot easier then most other EX fights. I already got the mount and pet. Once you learn how to dodge he goes down very fast.

To be fair, expert dungeons don't require any skill and knowledge about how to play your job properly and people still fail even those. You just dodge things, AFK, and watch netflix and you can still get a pass somehow! Amazing!

Remember the bees of Amdapor keep pre nerf? You had to beat the demon wall and the stinging bees before you died and he crushed your party at the starting gate. Good times.

    Yup.

I still see people fail the first boss in Quarn normal. Seriously, there's just not enough things that teach players how to properly play their jobs and be actually skilled as well, and then when they get towards higher-end content, this kind of thread happens.

As I said in an earlier post the design of the boss really appears to be intended to be done with a different set of mobility options than is offered to us in FFXIV. This does not make it impossible to do, but it does make it feel clunky. I feel this way about both normal and EX. The easier version of the encounter doesn't remove the feeling of clunkiness for me. I think the idea is cool but poorly executed.

I honestly think giving players abilities that you'd typically find in a Monster Hunter game (and no a potion does not count, please...potions are hardly unique to that genre) would have done a lot to bridge the gap between the two games and make the encounter feel more like a marriage of the two games rather than something that feels like a poorly thought out copy paste of a boss.

Probably all raiders got the main classes geared up to 370/369 but everyone got Alt classes. Like me now I will gear up my melees Sam and DRG so I need 2 heads,2gloves, 2 boots are in total 12 v2 logs. Add 2 pants so others 16 v3logs and staying jewellery 16 logs for 4 pieces: It’s a lot to farm lol
In the past 5 months of raiding I geared up to max lvl healers/casters/tanks already (:

Unfortunately as you can see in “Tales from duty finder “ player skills and effort in game counts even in casual contents like expert. I mean the new expert dangeoun “Swallow compass “ it’s so easy and looks even less requiring than Fractal Hard or Hell’s Lid but still some runs get exhausting sometimes (:
Funny fact I did the other day Temple of first with 3 bonus and It took 37 minutes... nobody was following any mechanics, no aoes from DPSs and as tank I couldn’t pull more than 5 monsters at the time (Conv/Rampant/anticipation up every mob) we reached the end of it just because if me using clemency on the healer lol
This Rath ex doesn’t require any skill just ability to dodge like a race car game (:

Oh, please. If they added the 3 cart rule to savage you all would hate it. It has nothing to do with bad players, I check the gear of people and I see just as much diamond gear as not. It's more about a low threshold for mistakes per party.

What gets very old about this is that people are defining "bad" as "not top tier" because apparently everything is "Easy." It's like a grandmaster in overwatch complaining about how 90% of the playerbase are bad, but its ludicrous because the real answer is he is very good. He isn't "acceptable," but in this game, if you aren't middle of the pack raiding savage or better, you are apparently bad.

it makes it very frustrating to have decent discussions of difficulty here because there's like the top 10% (and if you clear savage you are probably less than that) assuming the top 10% of play is actually the average instead. So if th top 10% one-shot a trial, they think EVERYONE should be one-shotting it.

I mean, I cleared it. I got my scale and a poogle to boot, but it took me 25 runs or so, and the run we cleared no one was allowed to make a single mistake on phase 2. Everything had to be done perfectly. I even had to run the moment rath resolved after the flames because every time he would lunge at the spot i was.
