Sad thing is people wanted FFXI style content. I would honestly say the fault also lies with them since they demanded it and the devs made the mistake of listening. I wish there were alternate ways to level outside of mob grinds and follow the train, but that's what I need to do I guess.

    Objection!

This is absolutely nothing like any FFXI content. The closest thing would be the level up process of camping in one spot and grinding mobs, but it's not even anything like that.

Does this look like Eureka? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRH95CLILFk

When people ask for FFXI content, they are typically asking for... you know, the kinds of content that FFXI had. The leveling process is not content.

The whole idea that the developers thought this was worth spending time on, over more msq and interesting content is depressing.
What has happened to their inspiration, their innovation?

To see the game go from the quality levels of Heavensward writing to the current content dirge is really sad.

I agree 100% with everything OP said.

    - It's not optional cause we want/need relics. Current i370 relic will be BIS for me until Godka is down or to next tier, which we'll get new raid weapons and relic anyhow.

    - While as an 12 year playing FF11 veteran I do enjoy seeing iconic gear pieces like the O-hat, Vermillion minion, Speed Belt and Cassie's Earring it far from the real FF11 experience. When I'm thinking adding 11 content to 14, I'd think more like taking inspiration from it's own content. Relic building, endgame events. No we got 2003 styled exp grind. No thank you.

    - Anemos was a sleepfest with endless grinding a couple levels with and without challange log then half afk watching netflix and ride fate train. I havn't tried Pagos more than half a level and I don't see how it very different in design apart from a snowy skin and bunnies.

    - Relic quests in ARR and HW wasn't perfect but they were more interesting and easier accessible, not to mention not being delayed upon delayed like Eureka been. What annoys me even more is that Eureka was pushed as a Stormblood feature while we got it half into the expansion cycle and does not live up to the hype.

I agree. I had want to see something like Dynamis, Jailor pops or Apollyon.

I just want to add, among my full agreement to all that's been said, please this mindless mob grind is painful on the hands. Hours upon hours pressing 3-4 buttons cause AoE is all you can do to speed up the killing is just damaging your physical health. Slowing down or taking a rest and you are seen as AFK lazy bum. This type of content is really poorly designed.

I fully agree with the OP. If I wanted to suffer in Vana'diel, I wouldn't bother playing in Eorzea.

if they release a glam i don’t like i don’t say “wow glam is overrated and its everyone’s fault for asking for glam”. i just assume the devs had a different direction they wanted to take it, and unfortunately it didn’t line up with my interests.

also absolutely no one asked for uninspired mob grinding. no one. eureka isn’t even great value brand xi. it’s diadem upside down to fool ppl into thinking it’s new content.

While I enjoyed, at the time, Eureka when it was new, after I got the healer weapon and gear I never returned.

Where? You'll have to elaborate. All you did is mention how it made you feel.

Just within the first 10 second I can already see that the number of people on screen is extremely different. The number of enemies as well. The number of button presses is about 50x less. The pace is nothing alike. And the goal of killing those enemies is killing the enemies in and of itself, not waiting for something else to happen.

Pagos in design seems okay, but the main issue is that for whatever reason, the devs wanted to force mob-grinding gameplay. But the players tried that, and it's just to rough on us. The fact that the developers do not know this is very worrying, because it means they really don't act in a player-centric way. By this i mean they consider the player experience instead of their design goals.

There should have been someone at some point saying "Are players going to like this?" and they should be taken seriously. That they aren't isn't a good sign.
