With the dev team working on new sets of armor, I can imagine they will be on the level of the Ifrit weapons and possibly even better looking (in a more reserved way of course). If only SE could find a good balance without crossing the WoW line, we will be ok.

Just give it a bit, it seems you have joined the game at a funky time seeing were in the midst of another patch that will change the game quite a bit. If it bothers you, I reccomend taking a break and checking back in around the 14th/15th.

I seriously looked like a hobo in my low level 20's crafting gear. Shepherds gear didn't really call out "I'm a crafter!". Shepherd's gear and a skullcap.....wtf kind of combination did I get myself into for crafting gear?

Yeah, things are going to be a bit wonky for a while... As soon as the dev team fixes FFXIV's gear direction you'll see more consistancy in our gear.

Hopefully they won't be using the "gear takes 3 months to make" excuse to delay stuff.
