awful example from me but yes I agree and it was reported, I just don't agree with their "forced lessons"Numero uno - the analogy was not a good representation. How does pulling as a non-tank on a boss fight corroborate in any way to dying in an AOE in a middle of a fight?
Numero dos - If they emoted over you and refused to rez you, yeah, that is definitely a douche move on their part, and yes, the players who emoted over you as a form of mockery are reportable. On that we agree on.
Ran a Ridorana the other day. Was largely uneventful and we didn't wipe to anything. *scare chord*
No but really, my party had 3 BRDs and we were alliance B. When we got to the golem adds before Construct, I figured with a full level 2 LB bar one would run back to a side of the middle row and LB the line of them. Lo and behold once someone engages them one BRD immediately pops it... From the center of the room so it ends up only targeting one of the middle golems.
Heaven knows the lil' guy probably meant well, but I don't think he quite thoroughly thought-out the execution and just wanted to be the BRD that used the LB there.
Yesterday got Syrcus Tower as a BLM.
Everything's smooth but I couldn't help but notice two people from a party standing at the entrance of each arena and not doing sh*t. Each...arena.
They just stood there doing nothing. And oh guess what they were mentors, what a surprise.
Though I laughed quite a bit when they died and nobody deemed useful to rez them
(Not to say that every mentors are like that, there are some great ones but....you have to find them)

I HATE COMCAST!!!!!! To the group that had a learning monk in doma castle that died right before the last boss. I'm sorry. Fxcking comcast and their stupid outrages.
Being off uni and work for the summer I was bored enough yesterday to run a few mentor roulettes and one of those put me into Halatli NM - easy enough! We get the "someone is new message" and the rest of the party gets a greeting... and stays silent. Okay, cool, I dont need to chat as long as everyone is doing their job - jobs being a lancer (or maybe already dragoon...?), a bard and a gladiator. Gld is on level 31, for me always the cut-off-point at which I normally inform someone at the end of the dungeon to pick up their jobcrystal asap and where to do that.
It turns out this gld needs a lot more than his crystal though - a button for Flash, for example. Its Halatali, so my fairy can solo heal the DPS whos tanking, but I'm of the opinion that someone needs to learn the basics in the basic-dungeons. So even if we can clear Halatli without problems right now, the next group in a dungeon like Brayflox or SV might not have such an easy time with a no-flash-tank and might have less patience, because they rightfully expect someone to know the job-basics. So I try to tell him. No reaction. I try again. Nothing.
We reach the first boss and I notice that hes not using his aggro-combo - yes, Halone is missing at that level, but the 2 of the aggro-combo still generates more aggro than the MP-regenartion-move. The bard is tanking the boss. Using auto-translate, I tell him what he has to do and what skills he has to use. Nothing.
Boss dies, the dragoon and I jump into the fire. Despite explantions, the bard and the tank cant figure out what they have to do and are running aimlessly through the dungeon. The bard finally makes it somehow - I dont know if he found the door or used the shortcut, but he made it. The tank doesnt. No reaction to anything thats being said in chat still - both me and the dragoon are trying to explain, I link the point on the map... Nothing.
After 5 minutes - not joking - he makes it. No idea how. Still no sign of a reaction - or of Flash. During the second boss he keeps staying in the water, trying to hit the boss while you cant and dies from the dot because I dont bother healing stupid anymore. I'm trying my best to be helpful and polite but a certain point I'm just done, specially when there is no sign of improvment, reaction or even acknowleding that the person in question is reading the chat.
I raise him afetr the fight is over - we really didnt need him for that - and it takes him two minutes to jump into the fire again.
The bard tanked the last boss.
sounds like a common bot. No chat, no flash, Riot combo only, ignoring bad stuff. Although usually they don't get stuck like that. Maybe the pathing got stuck, and the bot got back on track after the guy behind it manually fixed it...
If the "no-flash no-chat Riot-only" checklist is filled, I tend to say in /p something along the lines of "[Name] really seems to be a bot. If you're not, please say something in chat or jump a few times or use (Flash) or SOMETHING, so I know there's a human in there. <se.#>" (this assuming their language is set to E)
If there's still nothing, initiate vote kick.
Just got O7N for my raid roulette. It was 12mins in progress.
I started with "Healer delivery" load in and notice we're missing a tank too. It's in the middle of the fight and I rez the other healer but it's basically a wipe.
The other healer says "The other healer thought they were a DPS." or something along those lines, and I quickly replied "If you want a healer that only heals and doesn't DPS you're not gonna be impressed with me."
Eventually one of the DPS, a DRG, leaves and rejoins as WAR, and we get a BLM to make up for them.
We go in and I start with my dots and the other healer is already casting cure II when no one is even taking DMG.
The BLMS seem to just stand in every AOE, and I do my best to kept them up.
By the middle of the fight I'm so impatient with the other healer. I feel like I'm doing ALL the healing and still managing to put out a little DPS, and they're not even keeping people up. They're casting Cure III on themselves with no one near them. Next thing I know, they're on the ground.
They die to Magitek ray TWICE.
I'm laughing because one of the DPS had mentioned, they didn't know why the other healer and tank left, they'd kicked a DPS for being AFK and it's quick to replenish DPS.
WELL I KNOW WHY.
You have a healer that is only healing but can't even do that right.
Like.
I don't get it.
Back when you had to stance dance for DPS, yeah, I HATED dpsing, I was always terrified, but you have no excuse to not even throw out a Aero.
-pulls at hair-
You know, generally, I keep my mouth shut about a lot of things. Aside from the standard greetings and goodbyes, I generally will not bug you unless it's in a helpful manner if you're struggling or in response to something. Otherwise, you probably will not hear a peep from me. But if I'm tanking a boss as a DRK, and you see I go into Grit before pulling, and you go into shield oath, and we are not dealing with a boss like Lakshmi, then please, PLDs, stop spamming your damn enmity combos. Was on Titan HM and I know the PLD was spamming their enmity combo - I've played the job, I know what the animation looks like for enmity combos, and I see how quickly your jumping up on the aggro list. I've had to unnecessary go back into Grit in multiple 8-man fights because of other tanks, for whatever reason, spamming their enmity combos while in DPS stance.
I'd be fine with it if you were intending to Shirk that aggro to me...but so far, no OT has shirked me, so why in the world are you using enmity combos as the OT?
If I recall correctly, Paladins don't get their full dps combo till HW content. They're kind of stuck doing aggro combo for damage in ARR stuff.
Yeah, but I had been under the impression to not be using the aggro combo if they were off-tanking. If I'm in the wrong, then I'll gladly correct myself, but that had been stressed to me multiple times in the past to not use the aggro combo if off-tanking in lvl 50 content.
