I can see Blue Mages coming from Thavnair; some Thavnairian aesthetics look Middle Eastern. Plus I remember reading somewhere that Thavnairian chemists are some of the best in the world--chemistry was involved in the birth of Blue Magic in FF11, IIRC. It's totally possible that Blue Mages could come from Thavnair, with Thavnairian weapons to wield. It's just a theory, though.
