The problem with doing it like DR or BT areas is that they were built with this phasing in mind while Ishgard was built with the ruined look in mind, things would have to be shuffled around and than make different phases. It's certainly doable and would breathe life back into Ishgard for at least however long it takes to finish Ishgard, but I wouldn't get my hopes up for an Ishgard update anytime soon. Maybe in 5.0 or 5.x Aymeric asks us to help repair the damages in return for helping us attack the garleans

Not gonna lie, would be cool to see the Doman Reconstruction system for other areas destroyed by wars too. Ishgard included, would also populate the map a little.

I'm still hoping for a future "back to Ishgard" arc. This would be a wonderful thing to include if it happened!

If it's individualised, there shouldn't be any interaction problems as long as floors and walls remain in the same place (so player A can't see player B standing on a 'non-existant' platform). That's how the other changing locations have worked thus far.

I guess the problems are whether it had to be coded that way from the start, and what it does to other places' continuity! (ie. why has nothing changed in ARR's part of the world but moving on elsewhere?) Of course the current rebuilding projects already have that issue, and that's why we're having this conversation, but the more places that *do* get updated, the stranger it is for the ones that don't.

Unfortunately Yoshi has already stated in the past why Ishgard's Foundation will forever remain in ruins - it's because the storyline when you first arrive there is that the Dravanians' devastating attack on Ishgard (that happened chronologically at the same time the ill-fated banquet occurred in Ul'dah) is still recent, and because there will always be new players joining the game who will be naturally arriving in Ishgard eventually, they have to keep the area in that state to remain consistent with the story.

So unfortunately that means Foundation will never be rebuilt. It's sad but that's the price of having a consistent story to each zone.

the doman enclave reconstruction and all the stuff we built for the beast tribes is client side, so i don't see a problem here. a new player will arrive in the ruins and he have to rebuild it by himself, or it gets automatically rebuild when he reaches stormblood or whatever.

As was pointed out already, if it was handled the same way the Doman Enclave, HW and SB Beast Tribe areas, and Rhalgar's Reach... there really isn't any reason why it couldn't be done other than it's not important anymore.

Also, as to the 2nd players objection... as long as rebuilding Brume is an optional quest... then just don't do it.


That being said, there are a multitude of areas I'd like to see addressed in a similar fashion. Mor Dhona, Camp Drybone, Stonesthrow and Lost Hope in Central Thanalan, Little Ala Mhigo and Ala Mhigo proper to name some.

Also also... the one ninja update I'd love to see with no explanation would be riding by Helmhart with a full afro out of nowhere...

Which sucks because adding on to old areas is easy content and I really feel like some people would enjoy it. I remember the feeling I got when Mor Dhona changed. I want that same feeling with the Brume.
