Please let us reconstruct the Brume.

I finally stopped being lazy and did my class quests for crafters. In the ltw quests, you have to meet a bard in the Brume. I walked past this person below.

Please, please, let me give them some type of shelter. Yes lore, yes immersion, yes its only an npc. I understand. But its breaking my heart to do anything in this area. If we can get little Khloe a place to stay and a job, we can do something for the children in the Brume. Also, we can do something for the people like him who have to sit in the cold.

I'm not asking to make them like the 1%ers in the pillars. I'm just asking for them to have something. Even if its just little shacks.

It'd be nice if reconstructing the brume meant /Ishgardian Housing/ buuuuuut, we know how that went.

Really doesn't have to go that far. We already have two storylines that are all about helping the people of certain settlements. One is the Doman Enclave Reconstruction, where you provide the monetary means to fuel the reconstruction efforts, which the Brume needs as we were constantly told that's the area that suffered the most from the dragon and heretic attacks. Second, you have the Kurenai custom deliveries line, where certain stages have you provide warmer clothes and medicine.

The fact Ishgard gets none of this (and likely will continue to miss out on it due to being 'old content' now) is frustrating.

Unfortunately Yoshi has already stated in the past why Ishgard's Foundation will forever remain in ruins - it's because the storyline when you first arrive there is that the Dravanians' devastating attack on Ishgard (that happened chronologically at the same time the ill-fated banquet occurred in Ul'dah) is still recent, and because there will always be new players joining the game who will be naturally arriving in Ishgard eventually, they have to keep the area in that state to remain consistent with the story.

So unfortunately that means Foundation will never be rebuilt. It's sad but that's the price of having a consistent story to each zone.

the doman enclave reconstruction and all the stuff we built for the beast tribes is client side, so i don't see a problem here. a new player will arrive in the ruins and he have to rebuild it by himself, or it gets automatically rebuild when he reaches stormblood or whatever.

buuuuut i am totally against this idea. i need the Brume for my RP-story.

They have the technology to make areas look different to players depending on whether or not they cleared certain quests. It's used mostly for the Beast Tribe quests - all in open world areas - but I believe it's also the case for the Doman Enclave that is accessible to many players at once.
So no, newer players having access to Ishgard isn't why we won't get it; we won't get it because they won't retouch an older area to introduce this technology to it.

I literally had a dream, a week or so ago, where I built an orphanage for the kids in the Brume, and then sheltered accommodation with something of a soup kitchen for anyone else who needed it. It also enabled those without work to learn trade skills (I am, after all, something of a crafts/trades-WoL, and have many contacts), whilst all the while I was poking the political types for a wider, more impactful city-wide initiative for equality, and demanding they come and see what could be achieved if backs were put into it.

But, it was just a dream. Instead, I will simply have to walk by the freezing people, unable to even offer them so much as the stupid amounts of food and drink I can carry on my person. And still those snowball-throwing sprogs stop up to give me salutes. *sadface*

If they do it like how they handled the Enclave or Moogle tribe stuff in Churning, where it's as one person has put it as being purely client side, then there honestly doesnt seem to be much of an argument for any objections on as to why this couldn't be done in the future. For those wanting to hold onto some kind of pre dragonsong immersion then the fact that its purely optional should please both sides. Use to visit and chill in the Brume all the time in HW, would love for there to be a reconstruction there.

A bit of lore on why the Brume is so messed up. It's not simply "there are poor and rich", Ishgard suffered massively from the calamity completly changing Coerthan ecosystem and making their farmlands become ice deserts while they were on mid war. All the population that lived on the new frozen areas had to retreat to the capital and they've a massive population problem. Heavensward MSQ DoL quests imply Ishgard is trying to expand territorry to the Sea of Clouds, so probably these people would end up being realocated there if they decided to keep with that storyline. But the game must go on and they didn't which is a bit saddening but not the end of the world. They did give Mor Dhona's Doman guys a nice ending recently, so maybe all we have to do is wait.
