What I find ridiculous? I am a raider that support: team work,respect, a friendly and positive environment for EVERYONE! A community where nobody gets classified, insulted or diminished for the stupid colour of their log. RESULT: I get demonised and put on a stake!! Many ppl are closed minded and don’t understand that everybody has different way to do and objectives!! I DONT CARE ABOUT LOGS AND BIS either so what’s wrong with that? Other ppl may agree with me or not but you are nobody to judge. I listen others opinion but I can’t care less

If people want logs they can set a PF for that or join discord channels specified for speed runs (Alot of teamwork goes into these runs).

I don't think a sane person is expecting high logs/personal dps from randoms in PF. People are just upset that the bad players are joining content where they cannot carry their own weight, that is all. Aka if top tanks are dealing 4.8k and an average tank is dealing 4.1k, people expect you to deal no less than average.

But for some reason, people are misunderstanding the complaints and they think that people will always complain if you're not hitting the highest possible numbers. This is not true at all, because people who are complaining themselves are not able to put up the best numbers.

Again, all raiders (especially hardcore raiders) put teamwork at the top of their list. However, because of this that means they expect the other 7 players to have a similar mindset. If they notice someone is doing poor DPS (and it's multiple people and it's preventing everyone from getting the clear due to not meeting the DPS check), they'll ask what's up and then possibly suggest/advise the player(s) on what they can do to improve. If they're met with hostility, one of two things may happen: the raider leaves, or they criticise the player (implying that their attitude and unwillingness to improve will prevent them from ever clearing content) and then leave.

tl;dr: Teamwork requires everyone to put their all into it. Teamwork is not a pyramid scheme.

If you attempt to do Savage during the first few months of release (Meaning everyone is iL350). The dps check will not be easy to meet with underperforming players. The reason you are able to clear your weekly Savage now is because higher item-level is carrying bad players.

4k~5k are numbers that people have been dealing with iL350 gear. So naturally, when seeing someone with higher item-level dealing the same numbers or less, you automatically know that they are bad.

No one is saying bad players should not attempt Savage. That is how I learned to become a better player myself. I realized that my numbers were low for my item-level and asked someone with parse to keep an eye on my dps while I try new rotations, up-time, etc.. I was playing on ps4 back then.

What I personally don't like is that most players who are underperforming have no idea about how bad they are!
You say the purpose of the game is to have fun. Do you think players are having fun when they keep wiping over and over because of a bad player?
If a player does not know how bad they are, how will they get better?
Why would a bad player join content that was meant for people who meet certain requirements?

Also, I don't think people will kick underperforming players if the party is clearing content. BUT if they keep hitting enrage, the bad players will be the first ones to get kicked.

So why do you classify them as bad? Because if the logs! Ergo, logs are the issue! No logs, no salt,everybody happy! Still I don’t see DPS in average to deal over 5k... 5k it’s the AVERAGE.

Someone said 4K for tank, that’s insanity lol not even WAR can, 1 tank that can over other 1000 is not average

OP, you really need to chill. You are showing you are a hypocrite. I’ve read through this whole thread (quite the fascinating read), and the majority of people responding to you have been calm and respectful. HOWEVER, when you start throwing names at people like a child, you aren’t going to get very pleasant responses afterwards. You sit here and call people names, make sweeping generalizations about people you don’t even know, and boast about how “amazing” you are. Us “elitist” raiders you hate so much are not the toxic ones. You are. You didn’t use direct names, sure, but you are still calling people names.

People who are doing the bare minimum dps aren’t team players, by the way.

I know why you stopped playing DPS, because back in June - you had a 3k SMN parse and you managed to summon Demi-Bahamut a grand total of two times.

I stopped playing SMN because I got the piece I needed, my mages are 369 so I am satisfied, I reached my goal and I go with next class. That you consider me bad I don’t give a dry S***!! It’s your opinion and all runs are different mate...I play for FUN and I can’t accept to be classified by the colour little ppl like you that is why logs are bad!! Opinions not required? This is a public forum, people can post whatever they want even if it runs contrary to what you might desire. There is no rule here that only brown nosers can post in any given topic, much as I suspect you wish it to be. Also the day you posted this there was another topic about how a fan received a personal letter back from Yoshi-P after sending him one previously. If you really want to address the developers and /only/ the developers, send them a feedback form like that. By posting here you opened yourself up to other people's opinions.

Brilliant idea, we get rid of the logs, but since without calculated mathematics to determine DPS, they will then rely on which job causes the biggest burst and how frequently it happens. Before parsing got popular during ARR, there was a large group of people who thought MNK was useless because it did sustained small hits instead of big bursty hits like DRG.

People will always "discriminate" - you want people to discriminate based on factual data and not just gut feelings or misinterpretation of how a job works.

Also, if we don't have Parser or Logs to determine who the problem child of the group is, parties will just disband or stop playing the content altogether until we have a band of people we can verify are up to standard. Having no accountability means more troll groups where people just leave because someone out of the 8 isn't pulling their weight or multiple people aren't and there's no way to verify.

Yeah, you're factually below-average and I didn't even say what color you were. By the way, as you're an "expert players" who is better than me? I don't raid at all, I have no way to discriminate against you for any sort of color parse. I just look at your ability usage and see that you're not playing up to par. I guess your idea of FUN is not trying, weird hobby - but everyone's got one!
