    To be fair dark is kinda half way between brute force and magic wielding... I personally think it is a cool tank... mind you a gun blade user like the one in the later missions of SB( sorry for the spoiler lol) would be an amazing idea too. Also I forgot to mention that you're right about chemist.. I think mixing potions together to yield heals of not only hp but tp and mp as well.... although now that I think on it... that sounds like a rehashed ast.... not sure how you would set it apart. Maybe give it an elemental gun like in tactics? That would be cool. lol

    my response to the "instead of adding new tanks/healers they should just balance the ones they have" argument is that what they said they were doing for stormblood and the balance still isn't really that much better

    Actually the balance were MUCH better than it was in HW, just that the little parrots who want to imitate 0.01% world first/fastest/bestest aren't satisfied with it.
    And of course, the "instead of adding new tanks/healers they should just balance the ones they have" argument really is bullshit and hypocritical, because DPS balance is significantly worse than tanks and healers.

    how about some kind of Techno-Mage that's like a Garlean version of Blue Mage using Gunblades and tech to mimic known mob skills. i'm also interested in another job storyline that's not some long lost thing and more of a new invention like Machinist.

    I really want us to get a chemist/arithmetician/calculator type job. I think it makes sense for Garlemand because native Garleans cant use magic, so they need a way to heal right?

    Unfortunately, if they added those jobs, from what I heard, they would be magic jobs.

    If I have to play a magic job to heal, I may as well alter the space-time continuum. :P

    Here are a few of the options as I see it:
    Attacks are Monster based: Blue Mage, Gun Mage, Pictomancer, Morpher, Orator, Culinarian(used)
    Attacks are Copies: Memorist, Mime
    Mount Class: Chocobo Knight, Magitek Knight
    Pet Based: Puppetmaster, Beastmaster, Engineer, Anamist
    Terrain Based: Elementalist, Geomancer, Dancer (FF6 version)
    Healing: Chemist, Time Mage, Synergist, Dancer (FF IV, FF XI, FFXII version)
    Debuffer: Saboteur, Gambler, Corsair/Pirate, Dancer (FF T, FF X, FF V version)
    Tank: Rune Knight, Onion Knight, Sentinel

    I'd pick from these:

    Caster - Pictomancer: Weapon (Paint Brush) - Pretty much a Blue Mage but with a little more flavor (paints a monster to do the attack rather than just casting).

    Ranged Physical - Dancer: Weapon (Ribbons/Whips) - Similar to bard in that It provides support roll with DPS. Has a Geomancer flavor similar to FF6 Mog that uses dances to modify skills similar to Astrologian's "Sects". Environmental style buffs/debuffs like darkness to blind, mud to slow, soothing breeze to heal, ext.

    Ranged Physical - Gambler: Weapon (Gambling Items) - The dark cousin of the Astrologian, ranged dps support that either buffs or Debuff with a luck flavor. Increase / Decrease critical chance, Increase party member (chance of) skills triggering, Ninja style increase item drop chance, ext.

    Healer - Time Mage: Weapon (Pocket Watch) - Would have spells like Haste, Slow, and Stop, but also have healing skills based around time, reversing damage (rather than healing) as primary spell and slowing down damage (turning burst damage into dots)

    Tank - Rune Knight: Weapon (Gunblade) - Celes style, absorbs attacks to fuel skills. Would specialize in Range tanking, (IE, can perform rotation to keep attention of immobile enemies at range.)
