What's up with the Monster Hunter armor?

I actually like the armor set we're getting. The male stuff especially.

I mean it's not bad just disappointing to me I guess.
It looks nothing like something you'd find in a Monster Hunter game, instead of giving us a unique glamour (for XIV anyway) directly lifted from World, they took one of the most iconic sets from that series and made it generic XIV armor with new textures. It's a testament to this game's gear design that a badass bulky armor with a beastly helm had to be turned into a slim jacket/shirt with a circlet in order to "fit in Eorzea more"
