What's up with the Monster Hunter armor?

It's all subjective. I personally really dislike the OG Rathalos armour. I like the stuff we got.

Honestly its not that far off from the Ratha armor, and honestly looks better than the Ratha armor in MHW. I like it quite a bit.

I like it Will be nice to have a decent leather outfit for my healer.

With that said, I've not played Monster Hunter, so no idea what it would be pulling from.

I really don't care about the armor. And not because it looks bad or anything.

The star of the FFXIV/MHW crossover event is the Rathalos Mount which looks amazing.

Compared to how long that will take to get, the armor might as well be an afterthought.

Must say the male coat is excellent, the guys definitely get the better glam out of this event. While I am slightly saddened that we don't get the Rathalos armor the Poogie pet and the Rathalos mount more than make up for it. Also while I do not play IG in MHW you can be assured I will still enjoy getting the bits to craft the Gae Bolg over there.

Have they said whether the event is running for a limited time? I think I want it for my Lv30 alt I wasn’t planning to get to 70 for a long time...

I doubt it was a question of difficulty, but rather a design decision based on aesthetic.

I am disappointed that their design decision led to them deciding to keep the aesthetic of the armor we get more in line with styles that we typically see (there are elements in that evocative of Rathalos, such as the red scales on the sides of the female piece, and I do like both as individual sets regardless of their origin of inspiration) rather than going for a full on Rathalos set...

But that disappointment is heavily offset by the inclusion of Rathalos as an actual mount.
