I don't think you're coming at this from the angle to which I am opposed and maybe we got off on the wrong foot.

I don't think additional character creation options are stupid I think saying they should be there because those options exist in humans is stupid. Most races have 4 preset faces and slender builds, do you really think that the entire wealth of human diversity can be expressed by such a character creation engine?

My issue is with many posters in this thread seeming to feel entitled that their specific skin tone or the skin tone they desire is not available, as if Hyur need every possible skin tone that exists in humanity. They have further gone on to imply that SE is somehow being "racially insensitive" by lacking these options in a fantasy videogame.

I maintain that Hyur are not humans. Humans can't do magic for starters. We don't live in Eorzea. We aren't all shaped the same. There are tons of differences between Hyur and humamity. Some Hyur look like some humans but most humans don't resemble Hyur.

If you just want some more character creation options by all means make your own thread and I will support it 100%. If you want to attempt to guilt SE into including racially specific character creation options with bait titles about "race problems" though.... no, I will call out how wrong that is every time.

I like this thread though, it shows a lot of things which needed to be seen.
As for the idea itself, I fully support it, Square Enix should to take this into consideration when/if they expand the character creator.

You should leave personal vendettas from other threads in the other threads. Your last comment is about as constructive as all the bickering and buzzwords flying about in this thread.

I'm all for more customization, but the suggestion should have been delivered in a far more mature and more well-thoughtout manner. And buzzwords completely left out of it.

Out of all the things to talk about you want to talk about "buzzwords?" Also be careful with accusations, there's no personal vendettas here; spreading lies is also a reported offense.
The irony in your last sentence is that there's nothing more immature than spreading lies and not practicing what you preach.

The opening posts and subsequent responses have devolved this thread into nothing more than bickering filled with buzzwords about “white-washing” and the like with regards to character customization in this game. The OP has failed to acknowledge or respond to the myriad of examples provided by posters that some of the traits they desire are achievable in the system as it currently stands. Instead, they chose to personally attack several of the posters that disagreed with them with insinuations that they were stupid and/or slow. Responses like that don’t make people coming into the thread keen to listen to them; at least, it didn’t for me. I have no qualms about people asking for more curly/kinked hairstyles, more face types for all races, or for color sliders/color wheels to add in even more personalization. But the heated talks about skin color and inequality with regards to representativeness were unneeded.

Any sort of well-thought out suggestions were lost the moment people started turning this into a real-life racial “debate” within a fantasy game. If you want to make suggestions for more character customization, leave terminology that can be construed as insinuations that one or more parties are “racist” out of it.

You saying "everyone" brings the important factor of why some of you are bothered by the idea suggested in OP: You think that if anyone disagrees with your disagreement of the idea of better race representation that they're calling you a racist. As a matter of fact, you have no proof of such insinuations besides paranoia. What you're essentially seeking is people to rinse the subject through to the point where it's no longer asking for race options so that your paranoia for discussing the subject disappears.

And they keep DOING IT too. Harping and harping on delivery this and delivery that, who cares at this point? If everyone is so on board with everything just talk about the suggestion then.

If I ask for mixed races, who cares if it's because I like mixed people IRL, like humans with plastic kitty ear hats, or like the idea of a Miqo'te-Hyur mix. It doesn't matter.

If someone wants bigger butts, it could be because they want a butt similar to their own, want to see a big butt all the time, want to be aroused all the time, or just want to be normal. The motive doesn't detract from the suggestion.

Stop dodging the request by inflating the thread with stupid tumblr-buzzword-racewar-delivery stuff.

I'm sure the OP would love to spend her time chatting about hairstyle and face ideas instead of racism for 20 more pages.

If you want an idea to be properly discussed, deliver it in a well-thoughtout manner. Poor delivery results in poorer discussion.
