This will cause you problems. Jobs do not have stylized rotations. While minor deviations are fine, attempting to completely alter a rotation will simply gimp your damage for no benefit. Furthermore, while I get playing the same job constantly can get tedious at times, you won't develop good habits and muscle memory if you frequent bounce around. Keep in mind, if you do look for statics, most prefer you have a preferred "main" job.

As for gear, you have quite a few options.

    - Farm Aetherpool to convert into a i365 weapon
    - Weekly Ridorana
    - Mendacity capping
    - Purchase i350 crafted gear (whatever's cheapest) and exchange it for Augmented verions

Exactly. When you join a static, you're signing up as a particular job. Most statics will allow you to have 1 or 2 alternate jobs, but when all 8 members are there for raid night, you're expected, nay required to play your main job in Savage. That only applies in Savage though. Outside of Savage (and maybe Ex primals), most statics are like "Play whatever you want". Also worth bearing in mind you'll only be spending a subset of your time (if a casual raider, usually 4-6 hours a week) required on that main job. All the other time you play is open to you. Don't be discouraged.

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

I've only recently done a Savage raid for the first time in the last few weeks and I don't plan on doing it again...it's just not for me. But I'm currently at 354 ilvl with mostly mendacity gear and crafted gear which can either be purchased from the Market Board or created and then upgraded using Resistance tokens. Resistance tokens are easily obtained from trading in the crafted gear to a vendor in Rhalgr's Reach. Each piece is ilv360.

And as everyone says, you can do the Ivalice Raids and Weekly Tome caps to gain Mendacity gear and the Ivalice gear. Honestly, unless you're all about numbers (like I am to a point), you really don't even need to be concerned with having "the best" stuff. Most content can be cleared as long as you meet the requirements for that dungeon/raid.

I don't mean to sound mean, but there is no such thing as "personal style rotation" in this game, its not even that you would be playing suboptimally, you would just be playing the job badly or wrong. You don't even need to min/max in order to participate in savage, you just need to learn how to play your job properly and learn a few tricks to increase your raid potential.

Im kinda in the same boat as you OP, though a bit different.

I lost my old account due to GMs making a huge mistake and mistaking battleping as some cheater program. Over 20000 hours of work since 1.0 Legacy gone. Even had 2.0 earned Mesuline Mauler title that was near impossible to get before unsynching came about. Tried for 9 months to plead, send evidence to SE they were wrong, even had a japanese friend go to SoJ directly to plead my case. Nothing ever happened. Now im on a secondary backup legacy account doing all I can to get back as much as I lost as I can, while trying to get geared up to then get Clears on Savages and Extremes.

Though, I always had a easy time doing the difficult content. I simply watch video guides and if I make a mistake I dont repeat it a second time. But its likely ill have to create PF Learning parties then clear party for each single one and Im sure it will all take time. Likely ima do it once Eureka Part 2 comes out and I get the Relic armor and weapon from that to make it easier on myself. I just really hope I can get into a new progression static for when the next Raid Tier comes, because I want to do both of the ultimates as well. I pretty much got a long busy 2 months ahead of me.

Ill have to practice my warrior again too it seems, since Warriors are MT now from what I seen. I prefer PLD/DRK, but I like to be the MT, or Starting Tank as others like to call it. But its whatever, I always master all the Tank jobs. I hope you have better luck than I m'lady.

The game is kind of draging on without enough engaging content. This patch seemed really bad. My hubby and I currently only play 2-3 hours a week down from 10-20 hours a week. Which isn't a bad thing We got some nice games on the steam summer sale like FFXV.

Hmmmmm..........I'm a bit torn how to respond here.

On one hand, I want to sympathize with your plight as it is always a terrible feeling when you can't do content you want to.

    On the other:

    1) There's really no excuse not to have gear at this point. I didn't even unlock RDM until just before 4.3 dropped and it's already at i361. Gear (besides Savage Raid Gear) is handed out like candy in FFXIV.

    2) Several of your comments seem like you just want to be carried.
    a) "I like my own personal style of rotation" "I can't be bothered to min/max". Really sounds like you want to do whatever you want and play however badly you want and yet be able to have other players carry you through content.
    b) "I haven't found a Savage PF with open policies (that isn't a learning party)". Why are you trying to join anything other than a learning party? THAT is EXACTLY where you belong, since you haven't cleared and are at a low ilvl. You don't get to play badly, have no fight knowledge, a relatively low gear ilvl AND get to join all the FARM parties to get carried.

    3) "I'm not even sure I want to buy armor with those tomes because i dont play anyone single job, I feel like I need to switch it up or I'll feel bored." Ok, that's cool if that is what you enjoy. BUT, don't expect to be able to spread yourself thin, invest NOTHING into any one class, and STILL be able to do achieve any end-game goals. You just need a reality check here.

TL;DR : All of your complaints and constraints are self-inflicted, so you really have nothing to whine about. Do what's necessary to clear Savage or don't. Choose one.

There isn't any point in getting the highest ilv outside of doing savage in the first place.

Yeah, sorry to tell you but that won't fly.
Savage and a "I'm a special snowflake and do it my way" kind of playstyle don't mix, because (sadly) the game itself does not allow that kind of customization when it comes to the combat element. There really is only one way to play a class correctly and the enrage timers of savage are designed around everyone playing like that at least 85% of the time.

Piece of advice: stay out of savage. I doubt that you would have much fun in there in the long run unless you change your mindset.

Yup, outside of wiping on Kefka savage, there really isn't much to do atm. Peoples login times (and subsequently # of groups in PF) reflect that.

Again, why do people need the best gear when they dont do savage/speedkills/ultimate content? Does it really matter to have such great gear in dungeons?
