Starting to feel like this is kind of pointless.

I don't even know what I'm doing in this game anymore. Can't get into savage groups, so i can't get the best armor, doing the same trials over and over to try and win a dice rolling contest for subpar armor to try attempt to do higher level content is becoming more pointless as people just up the ilevel gate to allow only those who have already completed the trials/savage content into their parties.

You don't need to do savage or trials to get to i360-369. Can do it on mendacity + 24 person raids for the tokens.

Again, why do people need the best gear when they dont do savage/speedkills/ultimate content? Does it really matter to have such great gear in dungeons?

Because some people just want to have all the things? *shrug*

it's more that there aren't really any other goals beyond a certain point. There's really not much to earn too with a combat class; it's almost all daily maintenance roulettes done solo queued. Increasingly you get pushed into savage or ex because there's very little to do in the game that you havent already. Eureka really was the only long term goal that served as a substitute and was stil engaging, I think.

Fair game. However, if you didnt notice, I stated one of the games flaw. I mean, Ive had my share of fun and currently on break. But the farming and doing every week savage when its not relevant anymore, because everyone is or close to be overgeared by far to do content.

    Pretty much this.

I can fully understand where you come from. However spamming 24 man raid for upgrades and then once you done it then what? The content players currently do or have done is on farm and mostlikely been overgeard on multiply classes. Like you said, it goes towards a goal and working for it, however grinding gear thats no longer relevant isnt a goal to work towards for, its the simplicity of wanting to just have gear to stand around with until next patch comes out, where last tier will come out and crafted gear will be good until you get new savage/tome gear.

If you were capping every week you would've have more than enough mendacities to get a full set of 360 tome gear and also if you were actively hunting you would've been able to turn all of those 360 pieces into 370 pieces as well. Also with the hoh you have access to a i365 weapon if you don't do extreme trials. And if you want to learn savage, no one is stopping you from making your own party so the blames to your whining lies entirely with you.

unfortunately I didn't come back to the game until fairly recently, and took me quite awhile to catch up with the game as well as remember just how the game is played, i may have reached cap 3 or 4 weeks at this point, and i only recently got the rightside completed with 370 from the recent tome purchases. I'm not even sure I want to buy armor with those tomes because i dont play anyone single job, I feel like I need to switch it up or I'll feel bored. I'm the kind of player who likes their own personal style rotation so I know i'll never be top dps or healer, I can't be bothered to min/max every aspect of a job, it ruins the suspense and thus fun for me, but I don't mind working for the harder goals and mastering instances.

This will cause you problems. Jobs do not have stylized rotations. While minor deviations are fine, attempting to completely alter a rotation will simply gimp your damage for no benefit. Furthermore, while I get playing the same job constantly can get tedious at times, you won't develop good habits and muscle memory if you frequent bounce around. Keep in mind, if you do look for statics, most prefer you have a preferred "main" job.

As for gear, you have quite a few options.

    - Farm Aetherpool to convert into a i365 weapon
    - Weekly Ridorana
    - Mendacity capping
    - Purchase i350 crafted gear (whatever's cheapest) and exchange it for Augmented verions
