Are the developers of XIV out of touch?

I mean compared to its major competitor WoW, FF14's cash shop is significantly larger. In fact, just raw eyeing it looks to be in excess of 7x larger if we focus strictly on in game items/services (377/~50). If I'm wrong though let me know. Don't forget either that FF14 is less than half the age of WoW.

7x the cash shop content, despite being less than the half the age? Not exactly something to just simply hand wave away.

and 90% of the items in the cash shop were available in game to those who were subscribed at the time. 90% of the rest are reskins or alternate regions cash shop items. the amount of cash shop unique items is very low.

my concern is only one thing

Today a new player comes in
On WoW he can buy around 500 euros of stuff
On FF he can buy around 900

In the way i watch, only "how much could be spent in" FFXIV is far worse than WoW

and exclusiv cash shop, only 10% sure? with all NPC outfit... most of the mount...

BTW, just stop saying "hey, wow is worse so, no problem" If i cut your arm but a friend of yours got his 2 arms cut by anyone else, you will be able to say "hey, finally you are not a so bad people, you did only cut one arm" ... This is the same thing each time you defend FFXIV saying "others are doing worse" I prefer to see what others do better... and how FFXIV can improve, more and more...

I have yet to mention WoW. I have no experience in that game other than like... 12 years ago.

I have never once said XIV is perfect, I just think a lot of the issues people bring up are overblown.

How confident on the 90% number are you? Before I spend the time going through all 377 items. You're implying that of the 377 total items/services in the mog station only approx. 40 items are unique correct? If you knowingly exaggerated without putting an iota of effort into this response now is the time to remedy that.

Go for it. I'm fairly confident. From my standpoint as someone who has been subbed since launch, there are very few unique items that are mogstation exclusive.
