Actually for some players, making gil is the goal. They aren't saving it to spend, the "goal" for them is to see how far they can go with it or how rich they can get. Learning the economy inside out is what they find fun.

Personally I don't see what the issue is, unless the player in question is botting or cheating. If someone finds it fun to play that way, why judge them for it? I also fail to see why it's so economically damaging. A player with 13 billion will never spend it all, which effectively means 13 billion is in stasis and sunk from the economy. What would hurt the economy more is if all the billions from these players was floating around the economy in the hands of regular players being spent constantly. That would devalue gil and result in inflation.

A higher gil cap would cause no real harm. I see no reason for all the aggression in a lot of posts here.
