    Yeah i totally agree that if they just give items that lost on all DC it will be abusable and its a bad decision :< just still a little salty and sad, thats all. Still think their ignore to the whole DC while crafting problem is frustrating...and add the rule of "return only 1 lost or bought on mistake item per account" when Blizzard have no problem with it...This makes me even sadder elezen.

    Have to see how much fast is their ASAP (still hours later). Just to let you know guys: NA and JP data center always get a almost an instant response to any issue.

    Not good start as new player!

    So i came to this game planning to settle here and make it my MMO home, so far i encountered VERY VERY frustrating experience with the customer/tech support in this game!

    as subgame, this kind of problems shouldn't happen for more than 30 min at max and very rarely.

    and the usual reply "check if the problem from your end" isn't an excuse as its clearly from Devs side since everyone here having same issues!

    we paid you guys monthly fees to be able to log and play whenever we want and this is not what i see!

    Not here to defend SE delayed answer to EU (as always) but it's not something they can control. @Pain_Sama you pretty much just started, shit happen from time to time and nobody can magicly solve 'em, it could have happened to any company.
    The reason might be true but feel somewhat... far fetched. It maybe is true that it's a power outage but how come the server show fine and online on server status on the launcher, lodestone, ARRStatus except Is.XivUp..
    They'd be the first to actually show that the server are truly disabled so i still think there's something else happening..

    EDIT: Forgot to mention but the server themself probably popped offline for a short amount of time, kicking everyone out meanwhile they were still alive and kicking with only the lobby server being offline, you can still ping the server fine.

    Seem that electric power cause problem on EU datacenter, that mean, nothing good, maybe fix this today. Still they say about damage to server and net systems hardware, then EU datacenter will be maybe ofr few days
    They don't use power outage prevent systems? Sure datacenter is much bigger that simple few server with backup power system, still to not use this, i simply don't understand.

    Looking at the network, The game servers themselves are still online, but the server that handles login requests and player movement is offline.

    Network equipment, while still vital, is typically LESS protected than the main servers that connect them to the outside world.

    I know there are storms in the region, so its likely that everything could go wrong, did go wrong.

    I feel sorry for the rack monkeys as they wont be sleeping till the issue is fixed

    Do you really think that this kind of issue happens inside a banking system where customer can ask money back for any transaction not send right in time ...

    Disaster recovery plan and fallback data center exists since a long time ... i suppose it's not for us :-(

    This sort of thing is rare, even in the banking system.

    Something major has happened, no failover system is 100% effective.
