I've been a long time player, and something keeps happening that is completely rage-inducing and mind-boggling.

I can't find a download link to download and install the game on any SE related sites.

Ever.

I end up finding a 1.0 link off in dead google land, and installing from that. Currently, my only other option for doing this is creating a new trial account, then never actually using it because then I actually get a download link.

If this is somewhere on literally ANY of your pages, I can't find it, and google can only ever find a 1.0 download link.

What kind of company doesn't provide a download link on the mog station? Like, this is the OBVIOUS thing to do, simple too, and yet, nothing.

funny i just googled "ffxiv download" and https://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/ was the first result. *shrug*

That message is what happens if your IP address changes - SE's servers mistake your login as coming from another location and so temporarily suspend access - the email the message mentions is a link to change your SE Account password which will then remove the block. Unfortunately if your internet provider keeps changing your IP address (what is called a 'dynamic IP address'), the only other way to deal with this apart from changing your password each time this happens is to get a SE Security Token or Software Token and set it to your account, that generates a 'One Time Password' that you will have to enter each time you login, as the Security Token/Software Token ignores such IP address changes.

Ignore that 1.0 download link, it's client is completely different to ARR and is now totally useless (if you load it up it will only update a brief patch that changes the login screen to a "FFXIV 1.0 service is no longer available, please purchase and install A Realm Reborn!" message.). DrWho2010's link is the correct link for downloading ARR's client.

Either way, please don't get discouraged!

To lift a login restriction, all you need to do is reset your password. You should have received an email to the address that is associated with your Square Enix account.

To avoid the suspensions and forced password changes, grab yourself the security token. Either a physical one or the app.
It'll stop the game from ever suspecting you are indeed you.

The 1.0 download is the only download I've been able to find. I didn't change IP, but I did log into several SE sites trying to locate a download link, hoping to avoid the extra download to upgrade the 1.0 patcher. Completing a full installation of a new system requires a heavy amount of bandwidth as it is, and stacking games and OS data on top of that starts leaning towards my bandwidth cap.

As for getting locked out, the email didn't send for over an hour (with me checking my email every minute, spiraling further into frustration). I have used the 2-step verification in the past, but cut it off when the app kept crashing on my phone. Though, now that I have a new phone, I probably won't deal with that same issue anymore.

My primary complaint, however, is based on the idea that Mog Station doesn't have a download link available. Every other MMO I've played has always provided a download link on the same page (or within reach) that you pay for your services. It's frustrating, because the 1.0 downloader doesn't always work on the first go.
