Would you all like to see something beyond S-Rank Hunts?

I think it is safe to say every hunting group can pretty much curb stomp every single A and S rank, the mechanics are pretty much trivialized unless you're a small hunting group. So my proposal is this..would it be nice to see a new rank of monsters called U-Ranks? U meaning Ultimate Rank Monsters.

Basically maybe have them on par to Extreme bosses?

I don't mind if anyone here disagrees with the idea, just thought hunts have been really trivialized.

Hunts are supposed to be easy, accessible, and reward welfare currencies for the casual players to catch up.

The reason S ranks are easy is because we get stronger.

The Stormblood S ranks certainly weren't as easy on 4.0 or 4.1. I remember seeing bodies hit the floor for that tomestone-looking S rank even when we had a ton of people. Now? Not so much, it dies too quickly because our ilvl's gone way up.

So I don't think we need a new rank..because the same thing will happen: we'll get stronger as the incoming patches gear us and be able to beat them with ease.

When a new expansion is released, with all new S ranks, we'll have the difficulty again for a little while.

That being said, while I don't think we need a new rank, I certainly wouldn't complain if they did add one, or if they released new S ranks mid-expansion that expect us to have higher ilvls than when the expansion first started.

I fail to see how these U-rank monsters would be a real challenge. You know people would throw bodies at it until it died.

Being on-level on your own, let alone undergeared and underleveled, is bad enough when you run into even an A rank. Some of my worst experiences in the game involved accidentally spawning S ranks who murdered me on sight. Here's the thing about that sort of content difficulty you want - it is rightly opt-in. Hunts aren't.

If you want something like that badly enough, Odin spawns once every couple of days and he can still cleave fully decked level 70s

The reason they're easy is because they're designed to be zergs. All you need is more bodies to throw at them..

Even if you added an ultimate rank the same would apply just throw more bodies at it till you win..

the only way around this is to add claim rules. Only the party or alliance that pulled can fight. Then you can prevent them being zerged to death. Other wise nothing would change except the number of bodies required..

Add claim rules though and omg some folks would scream like hell.

I would like they to expand the hunt system to maybe some specific boss battle and maybe a rank Up system in the clan, honestly it feels like it's a bit hollow, what if you can unlock an 8 man EX trial of a S rank? there are many possibilities to expand the actual system so I hope they think about it

Well best way to counter that kind of abuse is that once the hunt fails, and he resets all HP he will disappear until next reset.

Also have a invisible arena ring to keep dead players out.

I'd rather see the existing Hunt system deepened. Adding another difficulty layer on top really won't matter much.

For instance, why not merge the idea of Hunts and maps? Let A- and S-rank Hunts sporadically drop Key Items for participants, that can be then be used to spawn a new tier of encounters in a fashion similar to Maps. Feature a couple of tiers, with varying rewards, that are targeted at a fixed party of, say, six reasonably geared individuals in terms of difficulty.
