Being a bad mentor(we should be able to report ppl for being a bad mentor)

I have bad luck overall so it's pretty normal...

You know, I see your posts and most of them stick out to me with a common theme - bashing people who ‘suck’...having no empathy for other players who may not be as good as you....and basically making it sound like you are better than everyone else.

You say you have bad luck in general? That’s the universes way of telling you to make a change.

Maybe change the way you look at others and your luck will change. Best of luck with that.

Well, I know everyone is entitled to an opinion but that’s different from constantly coming up with the same tone for every single post. My point I was trying to get across was ‘the self fullfilking prophey’. If you are going to treat others badly, you will be treated the same way. Anyway, I just wanted to say something

Lol I had reread the op's post a few times after seeing the first few replies thinking i missed some salt or something but no holy wow the first few repliers have absolutely NO business being mentors with those toxic attitudes. Smh

I was about to jump into the thread to defend the OP from those few who are berating them unjustly. But I'd like to thank the mentors who continue to be helpful, do actual mentoring, and make newbies feel welcome!

I fell in love with the game because of how helpful some mentors are, not because they're just in it for the mount.

Mentor roulette is a glorified queue-filler. It also puts the crown on automatically - the player has no choice in this regard. I’m sorry you drew this conclusion from my post.

The player does have an option: not to use the mentor roulette if they don't want to mentor. The crown turns on automatically because it's reasonable to expect that queueing for MENTOR roulette comes with actually mentoring.

Until you can force a sprout to learn, you shouldn’t expect to force a mentor to teach.

If a mentor doesn't want to teach than they can stop being a mentor since the status isn't providing its intended support to the community.

And some of the things people have said is pretty disgusting. Saying the OP deserves to be treated poorly? That mentors don't have to teach other players if they don't want to?

Maybe the definition of mentor has changed recently and I missed it, but they're usually someone more experienced who is expected to guide and aid people who are less experienced. It's funny that it's kind of backwards, where the most helpful and kind people aren't mentors, and the actual 'mentors' are greedy and rude.

Sadly, I've experienced this in one instance. I remember fighting against Titan where a sprout was teaching another newbie about the mechanics while the mentor was being passive-aggressive because the newbie died a lot.
