Bye. See you at 2.0. You can find me on my Goobbue mount. Problem?that thing will draw people away from this MMO and others regurdless. This game saying they are going to charge while its still pretty much in beta til 2.0 is asking people to go try something else lol.
If you think the servers wont empty out quite a bit by the time they charge then your need to wake up from that fantasy dream your having. Even while its free we still see people asking for mergers, some servers are just plain old empty.
Btw if you check out comments from the news story that now on multiple sites (about charging) most of them are pretty much just people slamming the game or laughing at people for being suckered into paying for a beta.
I for one will wait until 2.0. I cant justify paying for problems that cant be fixed until 2.0 and the lack of things to do ingame.
It's idiotic for a company to consolidate its servers to save money so that fewer people and resources are needed to manage their servers until 2.0 comes out?

To be honest, I don't think the current discount will be enough to change people's views on a "subbing for a half-finished game" on news sites. If it was made cheaper (WITH the included character fee) I'd say it would make better rounds, but $9.99/month is still too much for its current status.that thing will draw people away from this MMO and others regurdless. Of course, we're in a bit of a treehouse in these forums since a good number of us will support it regardless to help Square out. However, people outside on Teh Internets are (rightfully) slamming the game because the sub fee is still too much, some of whom were burned by the first few horrible months of gameplay. I hope this discount brings back some of them, but I don't know.
SWTOR's early access launch is right around the corner too, and I'm sure that will siphon a lot of the free players who don't post on these forums away from XIV. The only flipside is that WoW is currently losing some of its subscription base, so perhaps some of its refugees will deviate over to here. Who knows.

good thing it's not 12.99 then huh?To be honest, I don't think the current discount will be enough to change people's views on a "subbing for a half-finished game" on news sites. I vote yes on server merge; mine's all but dead as it is.
This game is not WoW; if you want WoW, go play WoW. If you get butthurt when people mention Final Fantasy XI, then shut up about WoW.As much as it might hurt you, and as much as someone else brings the balance issues up, FFXI had the jobs right. And, you know, this is a FF, and I don't see you guys complaining about people asking for WoW things. So please.
Also, it's not like this dev team is being true to the roots of the jobs anyway.
