As a tank main, if someone accidently grabs agro, I will pull it off of them. I won't say anything. There's multiple reasons for accidents.
If they continuously "accidentally" agro mobs, I will ask them if they can stand a little farther back so I can get initial agro on the mobs.
If the continuously "accidentally" agro mobs after my request, I will let them take the agro and tank.
If they on-purpose pull for whatever reason, then I will let them tank.

Accidents are accidents. I usually have no problem with accidents. I have problem with purposes.

Why queue as a dps if you want to get 2 dungeons done in the space of an hour (or 30minutes) before maintenance?
Just curious choice of class to play when time is of the essence. That's all I have to say on it, it's a glaring question I just had to ask as I didn't see it anywhere.

Good point, I also want to add onto your point, if you don't mind.

Usho's character profile has PLD at 70. So if there was a major time issue, then going PLD would have been the best option:
1. Shortest queue time.
2. Able to set initial pull speed in dungeon.

Another option Usho had could have been to bring a Tank buddy. Not only will Usho get to be DPS and lessen the RNG risk from getting a bad DPS, but Usho would get a guaranteed trustworthy Tank, and Usho would be in the Tank's DR queue instead of the DPS queue.

Also, I am assuming by the 2nd boss, Vote Kick could have happened. So if the tank was "trolling intentionally" and was "bad," why wasn't Vote Kick done? Usho just carried a "bad tank" through a dungeon, rewarding that tank for "trolling" and "being bad."

In conclusion, the intent was clear and you don't words to know when someone is trolling. I learned that in FFXI. My pty agreed with me on the tank's trolling and we worked together to get the run done faster without him. Did you catch all that? or do you need me to repeat slowly for you?

If the intentions were as clear as your grammar, no wonder the tank couldn't understand.

Jokes aside, you're making broad assumptions of a new player. Just because you wanted to rush multiple roulettes in thirty minutes doesn't mean the tank knew. Regardless, you easily could have communicated. Perhaps the tank was salted you decided to keep pulling for him. I will say this right now, be thankful I wasn't your tank lest you enjoy being Shirk'd repeatedly while I purposely do small pulls.

Now can we act like civil adults and get back to the topic please?

Civil adults would communicate with their party to make sure everyone's on the same page. Children mock newbie tanks with far less experience.

A RDM, a NIN and a WHM. NIN tanking reminded me of FFXI. RDM (me) as dps and support, and WHM as our healer.

So, which was it? RDM or SMN?
Was it 30 min to an hour before maint, or was it 25 min before maint?

Lots of things are slowly starting to not add up.

I think they need to make it more clear that despite being around the same item level, Shire tanking gear is not a good substitute for SB leveling gear due to the fact that the defensive stats on it are far lower.

I didn't understand why healing Bardam's Mettle and Doma Castle randomly seemed so hellish at times until only recently.

Those dungeons helped convince me to take a loooooong break from healing. Whether it was this ^ or me or both, who knows?

I've been leveling RDM and this morning I started at 52 and did a Stone Vigil, wound up dinging 53.

So, I queued for Sohm Al next.

Got into the group with this AST. At first they seem decent enough, in fact they were even casting Esuna.... I can't remember the last time I've seen a healer cast Esuna... but something seemed amiss at the second boss (the raptor). Due to some bad luck, I wind up dying halfway through the fight. I'm waiting for my Swiftcast+Raise but it never comes. I wait....and wait.. and then I look at the healer's cast bar and... what's this? He starts casting Ascend... and then stops in the middle of the casting, then starts casting again... then stops his casting and casts other heals (Benefic II, etc).

I'm thinking "what...? no swiftcast? Maybe he burned it on something else..."

He finally gets me up awhile later about 60-90 seconds when he's finally able to hard-cast it between healing and moving and we move on. Then we're facing down Tioman and she again nails me with a cheat combo, I failed to notice an incoming star attack and of course with how freaking fast that thing is there's no way I'm getting out of it and boom. I die again.

This healer spends the next three to four MINUTES half-casting Ascend and aborting the cast. So okay now I KNOW he doesn't have Swiftcast set. I mean really now... what healer would NOT take Swiftcast? He finally gets me up, and a few seconds after I stand up, the stupid thing nails me with that stupid star attack AGAIN.

Thankfully they just barely off the boss (he sacrificed himself to hard-cast Ascend AGAIN right at the end and would up dying just as the boss died).

...... people like to complain about healers over-healing.... I think stuff like this is even worse. I wish he overhealed... because that would certainly be better than no Swiftcast, or underhealing. I watched that boss fight and people were running around with half-hp the whole fight (that and you know, he was constantly trying to hardcast Ascend).

Not really a story, but more of a curiosity.

What is it lately with tanks refusing to use their tank stances in Brayflox (MSQ version)? It seems like every time I get it in leveling roulette lately, tanks just refuse to use their tank stance. Even when asked to put it on so aggro won't be all over the place.

I can understand if it was a new tank, since Brayflox is one of the first dungeons that you use jobs in and a new tank may not realize that tank stance is a thing. But most of these are people with either one or more tanks at 50+ (or even multiple jobs at 50+), so one would hope that they would know to use the stances, even if they get synced down.

That, and Brayflox isn't even the first dungeon where tanks have their stances, at least PLDs and DRKs. IIRC, you get your Tank Stance in Haukke Manor which is 1 dungeon prior to Brayflox. That is actually a good question, lol.

Now, I know when I came back from a Hiatus, the first two dungeons I ran as PLD, I forgot to turn Oath on, and I'm like "wtf is up with the DPS pulling so much threat!?" then I'm like "OH! Derp, I forgot about oath....."
