Why do you all feel FFXIV is a sequel to FFXI?

look at all the character models and they way the maps and cities are layed out. It's pretty much a copy paste concept of FF11 but w/o the many great features/aspects that made FF11 so great. w/o them this game is utter poop and that is why many of FF11's great points need to be implimented to further improve this game.

This is another FF MMO. They should not have deviated from what had made 11 so great. If they already put the effort into copy pasting FF11's Famous Three Cities, The Jeuno city that is not yet unlocked, and the EXACT SAME races but with different names, same names in magic spells but with very shitty and poor quality animations.

It's just an unfinished game that needs work with the help of 11...

Making this game a FFXI sequel or FFXI-2 will kill the current FFXI which SE does not want to do. Further more it will push away all the players that did not like FFXI or that were looking for a different experience. Yes FFXI had great features but so did WOW and WOW is a completely different game then FFXI. WOW didnt need to be an exact copy of FFXI to be sucessful... they got their own thing going on. This is what needs to be done with FFXIV. They messed up with their attempt at orginialty but it can be fixed with a better system.

SE has been very lazy with the design of FFXIV.. they did use a lot of copy and paste it is true... they did also copy the races and the 3 cities do look like they looked at FFXI's cities for inspiration and that is a design fail on their part.... especially when their goal was to make a different game then FFXI. Now saying we need to continue the copying because part of the game is already doing that, is just not the way to go.

I never said FF11-2 I said to take many aspects from 11 and basically build on them in 14. If they implemented and constructed on them let alone twist them, then this game would have been a huge success.

LOL even if they did make a FF11-2 this game would not be in the state it is in now AND there would be a larger player base...

If they did make a FF11-2 like EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHER was expecting then I would be playing an enjoybale game right now instead of browsing these lame threads on how to fix this excuse of a game while I lye in wait for the next FEW months possibly a year until this game becomes enjoyable.. As soon as TERA is here I'm not looking back at this game until they have finalized and structured this game.
