I think the solution is to ignore the special caster snowflakes that want to be special, and add flames to all the sets.
Then make it so that you can toggle the flames on and off.
The other contest winners didn’t have particle effects, so I don’t see the issue with making them all truly similar. All I’m asking for is fairness, but apparently people act like that’s such a bad thing.
What you see as fair some of us see as entitlement. Caster contest. That is all.I think the solution is to ignore the special caster snowflakes that want to be special, and add flames to all the sets.

I can only post once a day at this level and I'm going to use my daily post to say...
Are you freaken serious? Grow up and get over yourself. The only "snowflake" in here is you, acting like an entitled child over a set of armor.
Sorry, no flames for you!
Play a caster and stop whining, and maybe then you can be a "special snowflake" too.I think the solution is to ignore the special caster snowflakes that want to be special, and add flames to all the sets.

I doubt anyone is saying the original designer is at fault for the lack of effects on the non caster set.
What people are saying is that the lack of effects were a poor design choice for the developers and I agree, having effects only on one set looks like the devs just gave up or stopped caring.
fully agree.
And it really doesn't make sense to new players that come after this contest even existed. Does anyone really think that new players care why one set has special effects and the others don't? No, they are going to see effect on one set only and think the devs were just being lazy.
They didn't give up or stop caring, they kept (mostly) to the original art of the design for the caster set that won the caster design contest and no where does it say that ALL sets need to be made equal or look perfectly similar to the specific set that was made and whom won the contest. This wasn't the healer contest, you had your chances already for cool effects. So, logically, wait until the next contest for healers comes around and make something you'd like then.I doubt anyone is saying the original designer is at fault for the lack of effects on the non caster set.

For someone who's a healer or non-caster job to scream "unfair" and then refuse to roll a caster, it's called "entitlement". This shouldn't even be an argument really, it's a personal nitpick that one person has. You either roll the job for the gear so you're able to wear it, or you don't and then just suck it up.
The point of these contests were to design specific gear for the jobs that were wearing it, period. If the other gear was meant to have the flames on it for healers, tanks, melees, and ranged. They would have made the gear contest for all jobs then.

The fact that it was a player contest to design a caster set doesn't matter. The developers did not create just one set, they created sets for every class but only gave one set effects. That is lazy. And the players in general do not care about the contest, only that the developers did not bother to fully design anything but the caster set. They didn't give up or stop caring, they kept (mostly) to the original art of the design for the caster set that won the caster design contest and no where does it say that ALL sets need to be made equal or look perfectly similar to the specific set that was made and whom won the contest. Future players certainly will not care about the contest, and they most certainly will not understand why one set looks fully designed while the rest look lacking.
The contest is no reason to be lazy and not add effects to all sets.
