I still disagree. Imagine if everyone had to the flames. It would look way more awesome. :3
Not disappointed here, the sets overall are decent and the Whisperer’s top is perhaps the most novel caster piece in quite a while. Hopefully we see more bits rigged this way as I can’t say I’m not a little jealous that I can’t wear it as a healer![]()

No arguing about taste, but consider two things:
1) If everyone/every set had the flames it would be a lot less special. Given that the whole point was to give casters something special, that would undermine that.
2) You've already heard people saying "I dont like the flames all that much" - so they would probably disagree with everything looking way more awesome... as I said: a matter of taste.
Sorry you got the short stick here - or at least sorry that you feel you've got the short stick here.
Sometimes you get what you really like, sometimes you dont.
The gear isnt getting altered anyways...
Personally I feel that those flames make the most sense for casters anyways, from a shire "general aesthic"-perspective with casters being aggresive magic users -> magic flames on top of their heads. I cant imagine my bard or tank with something similar to be honest. It fits the caster-theme to have those flames, it doesnt really fit the other jobs. At least thats my opinion on the matter.
What?
When the caster gear design contest was made, it was for casting gear.
When a yourclasshere design contest comes up, you can enjoy it's benefits.
There's equality but you simply have to wait for it.

Flames on the healer mask would kill the glamour I'm using at the moment so I'm glad it doesn't have them. I'm not really big on the whole shiny/glowy/particles/wings/etc kind of aesthetics so I think having some gear with and some without is a nice balance.
Better win the contest next time then.
I love the official forums, they tell you to use the search for thread about what you wanted to talk but when you use it they judge for necro a thread.
While I don't really care about the set tbh, I just wanted to step in and say the other outfits that got implemented as sets from the contest, it seemed like they were fair about it, so the DPS, healer and Tanks all matched, so it is rather silly that they wouldn't do the same here.
You can remove them by wearing long gloves.
Flames, not cape/wings. I've personally had the helm bug out on the odd occasion and not show the flames until I hide/show my helm. Maybe implement a toggle via /visor?You can remove them by wearing long gloves.
Also side note, when was the last time we had armour with particle effects? That obnoxious set in ARR? Can't remember the name of it.
