You can also search from the crafting menu, gathering menu, loot menu, really anywhere that lists items. It also tells you exactly where the item you searched is, and how many you have, albeit the text is rather wordy.

I agree generally, but there are solutions to the problem so it really isn't that bad. Could use some work, but there are tons of other QoL and content things I want first.

Still feels like a lot of steps that could be easily avoided by just having one shared retainer space. lol. And yes...very wordy indeed.
But like I said in my edit, it's not a huge deal and I can certainly live with it. Just saying, would be a nice QoL thing. ^^;
