I still by my point that forcing players on a job that they are less comfortable playing just so that they can press need on glamour/alt gear was never a good idea for 24 man's. It only caters to wipe fests and people flaming other people

This assumes people are competent on their main jobs. Since there are no enrage timers, it's entirely irrelevant if people do low DPS while practicing. Most of the time people are dying due to mechanic failure or, bluntly stated, they're dumb. Playing on your main won't fix either.

And as others have mentioned, you won't be getting the good players. I speak only for myself, but I'll run this occasionally for fun, otherwise I'll go with a full premade of friends where we call loot, thus avoiding the greed nonsense entirely. Since I have completed Savage, I only need a few pieces for alt jobs... then I have no reason to touch it save once a week—assuming I don't do hunts instead.

People who roll on gear that they can't even wear are ignorant. You get 1 per week. I can't imagine that you are gonna come across people who keep doing this. I think we all just need to chill and wait to see how it works out. I think it will be better overall. But after the first week if you guys are having a hard time, come back and complain more I guess. Afterall SE is likely just testing this, if it doesn't workout they will change it back with enough complaints.

I've seen it. They say its because they will eventually get that job to the cap and they just didn't want to have to run the raid again. This will probably happen more often now. Its going too hard to get the thing you really want, so just greed everything? Also it doesn't have to be just people who "greed on anything even if its not at 70"t. People that just "greed on anything I have at 70" will make it bad enough.

It happens. Believe me it happens; weekly lockout or no. Like Loki said, people eventually just roll on something if their wanted drop doesn’t drop within a few runs, regardless if they’re going to actively use it, or even have the jobs unlocked. As I said before, I’ve met tons of people in Savage who roll on drops for jobs they don’t even have unlocked, and people that actively have them as secondaries cannot get the loot.

If they’re going to do Greed Only, put restrictions on the Greed Only: require them to have the job at least in the respective expansion (so level 61 or higher for level 70 24-mans) to even have the ability to roll on it. A guy with a level 5 LNC should not be rolling on level 70 DRG gear. A guy who doesn’t even have ROG unlocked should not be rolling on NIN gear.

This would also be a nice touch. It bothers to me to no end when people roll on stuff they don't use. Their usual excuse, "But seals".

This would at least stop those that don't even have the job unlocked/at a certain level.

From 2.X (when I started) through now, people will always roll on gear they don't need, whether its in a dungeon, trial, or raid of any kind. It's everywhere. Which is why I can't understand why this is being implemented just into the 24 man....at that rate, with the excuse they used, let's implement it in everything. (I really don't mean to sound grumpy about it, but I have more than one class at 70 and use most of them equally. Except for you RDM. Not you. :P)

See, this is what SE should do instead of this garbage Greed Only thing, or just keep the Need button in for alliance raids. I rather not be the tank for the raid, and find a tank chest piece drop and instead of rolling Need for it instantly cause its better than my current piece, I have to roll greed for it cause of SE's new rule.

For now you get 1 per week. It will not be this way in 4.4. Then good luck to get some gears once 4.4 is here.

It doesn't mean that future 24 mans won't have enrages. As well as that, technically any dps check is also an enrage. Hashmal is notorious for wiping low dps groups.
