Well I like the idea of embrace being an instant cast. Also I don't see the big deal with making it cast embrace whenever the sch cast a healing spell. I think that will be a great usability for the pet.

Making the fairy only heal whenever the SCH casts a heal means that SCH wouldn't have a form of "passive" healing anymore, and you'd have to command every single Embrace cast manually while you are DPSing, which would be a proper nightmare for controller users. It would also double the amount of buttons SCHs press within a minute, which goes very contrary to their current design philosophy of making the game easier and friendlier for newbies.

Heck, it would make SCH pretty much impossible to play without macros, and macros are so bad in this game that it would just make the job even clunkier to play than it already is. It's nice on PvP because you cast a LOT of healing in PvP, but in PvE you can get away with never casting a single GCD heal in some raid fights. Believe me it would make things a lot worse!

Edit: for clarity, WHM and AST's passive healing comes in the form of Regen and Asp. Benefic, which is a single button press every 21 and 18 seconds respectively. A lot less mashing than 1 extra button press every 3s!
