That is a lot of pointless hostility over a very mild suggestion. Sorry for having a little empathy for my fellow gamer.

I get where you coming from but why should SE care about if you can't login for a extend of time since they want to remove houses from inactive players? They already freeze the timer when there is disasters.

If they had stuck with what they said in 2013 and people would never lose their house - different story.

Fair point, but there are times when disasters hit, and they do not pause the timer. The disaster has to be considered big enough for them to pause it. So people dealing with minor natural disasters are just completely screwed over. As someone that lives in Tornado Alley, it's the sort of thing you like to be aware of, cause I am pretty sure that if a tornado hit my area, and my house was destroyed, that timer wouldn't be put on hold, since it would realistically be a very minor natural disaster compared to something like a hurricane.
It's why I think at least a paid option, one time use, would be nice, because then at least SE is getting something out of delaying the timer, that thing being money, which is what a business should be after.

If SE wants to clean up dormant accounts that is one thing but if I'm still paying the sub why should SE care whether I go visit it on some arbitrary schedule of their choosing?
