Get fussy with Square-Enix then. They termed it Auction House in their previous game in this same genre... they called it an Auction House, so that is what I'm gonna call it.

Again, within the game, they can call it whatever they want. I just expect players talking outside the game to realize that what SE calls it isn't necessarily what it actually is, especially if the players are going to try to use it to argue a point outside the game they're referencing.

Ah, but you're the one saying that an indefinitely lasting auction is possible, and using XI as evidence thereof. Notwithstanding that the system used in XI is not an auction system, and therefor an indefinite extension of XI's "auctions" would not, in fact, constitute an indefinitely extended auction. Your claim of understanding seems unsubstantiated. . .
