Already stated you and others don't know what an auction actually is.

    So let's hypothetically make one....
No more ward you have 1 storage unit, 1 delivery system ( I'm for this100% ) and 1 auction house. Regardless of what it's called or how it's run your dillusional thinking SE will give you the same amount of slots. It'll be 6-10 max, so now we've removed half the available selling space. This follows with, it will without a doubt only sell items single or set (stack) form, that also erasing items for sale because of incomplete stockings (and how most items are sold) that system also removes the ability to buy partial quantities from a seller, Both of these now eliminated give or take 50% of items available. Less supply.... Less competition.... And you think prices won't go chaotic? Anything battle/gathered will drop to ridiculous rates of people just trying to get rid of them, while finished items sky rocket because less are selling them.

Furthermore who ever heard of an free auction house.... Might as well go back to shouting for stuff if you want to avoid the fees. Have double slotted hq +3 48 weapon? And you'll get gouged week after week you try to sell it for a worthwhile price, should it not get sold.

Not to mention 1/2 the complaint is pretty much, omg I can't walk to the other side of the ward, it's so inconvenient. But running to back and forth to a delivery box and auction house to resell items unsold, or things you wish to adjust prices on ( paying more tax yet again)is fine? That's hypocritical.

I mean really, people need to think things thru before posting crap, that's why 1/2 the crap requested is complianed about after they change it.

Hypothetical situation slanted in a way to support your opinion. I will proceed to disregard, since this is not what anybody asked for in any of the pro AH threads, and it is clearly not what SE would have implemented given the MW changes that we're getting in 1.20.

    The Market Wards aren't free.

We weren't asking for things to be sent to a delivery box. You're making a huge assumption based on what you've experienced in other games. We asked for the system to just let us BUY FROM THE MENU, a feature that is being implemented next patch, further proving that we had a valid point.

Our requests were pretty simple, and the biggest one has been met. I don't see how you can claim that buying from the menu is not an improvement to the current system, unless you're just being stubborn.

What do you pay to them? Doesn't cost me anything to post an item. I only pay tax after it's sold. Ah is fee to post... So yes mw is FREE to use.

So where is unsold expired/taken down mercendise going? I guess back in your pocket works I guess, unless it's rare. Buying from a menu is still the ward and not an auction....

Really. I don't know how many people need to say explain that wards with menu buy is not an auction? Infect you just said it.

I don't know how many people have to say that Auction Houses in MMOs are generally not defined by the fact that they host actual auctions. They're usually an NPC or window where you list items for a price, and other players can search for that item and buy from said window for the price that you listed them at.

Call it what you want, but if you've read anything past our request for a thing called an Auction House, you'd see that what a lot of us were asking for was not so different from what we're getting in 1.20.

Let's cut the bullshit right here.
I don't care what you want to call it, FFXI has exactly what I'm talking about and they call it an Auction House. When many people in this community ask for an Auction House, guess what they are referring to (being that many come from FFXI). Rather than try to re-explain what I'm talking about when a majority understand via having played XI or being knowledgeable about that game's systems I'm calling it what Square-Enix calls it. With that said, the system we're moving to is simply a less efficient version of what was in FFXI.
    There is no advantage.

I played xi for many years, plz.

You could NOT sell an incomplete stack, you could NoT buy an incomplete stack.

You Payed time and time again a fee to post each item, sold or unsold

You had all unsold going to your mog, so to repost you had to go in your house, then back to the auction house.

    You had 8 selling spots

You could NOT see the items price, you had to guess and hope you either got it, or didn't over pay.

    You had dicks eraseing history

You had pricks peen posting also messing up history

6 mo ago, I'd agree with you.....
    But no. Not today.

^ That's exactly why I don't want a system anything at all like FFXI's. The system may have had merit back in the day but it's been a long time since. Time to move on to a better system. We're moving toward a better system. Market Wards have their flaws and limitations but they're slowly being corrected.
