Ya, twisting my words. We all saw how drk turned with stormblood, the suppose "magic" tank, supposed "evasion" tank, turned to a shell of its former self. Not sure why you're bringing DPS to this, (MCh being one of them, they could delete it and i doubt people would care ), rdm and sam are different enough from blm&other melee to be worth it. Also, we all saw what happened to PLD in 4.X with it being the defense tank of the expansion, being laughed at, ridiculed, while warrior&drk we're praised for their higher DPS and ect..


You want Geomancer to be PLD 4.X? I'd rather it be a healer and have something new to toy with, if we're judging by what we saw with that job quest, it'll be a healer class, if its anything else, i'll be surprised as fuh.

Oh but I didn't. And everything you said, skews towards my favor more than yours.

The point is we don't know what we are getting and how we will be getting it. But the bottom line is, most, if not all, of the jobs do the same thing, its just the names we call it and the flashiness that comes with it that is different; mechanics aside of course. Whether I punch someone, stab them with a knife or sword, or cast a fire/ice/thunder/water/earth/air spell on them, if they all do 200 potency, then technically they are all the same thing. Saying it would be "boring" when you know nothing about it, the 14 iteration specifically, is jumping the gun.

And also, this is not geared specifically towards you, but why does everyone think Geomancer would be a healer based on the quest line. The quests said nothing about healing, they emphasized protection, granted that could apply to healing, but also tanking, hence why people bring it up. But there is also the fact that we might not be using that form of Geomancy. I mean we are using Sharlayan Astromacy, not Ishgardian, despite the fact the Job comes form Ishgard, Ishgardian Astromancy is a thing.

Clearly the next Tank will be Blue Mage and the next Healer will be Geomancer. They'll also add Dancer. No one knows what it does other than look really pretty in AF.

how is BLU .....'clearly the next tank'? I have seen nothing of the sort to prove that, and i'm not sure how much of the communitty wants BLU to be tank or dps. It really could go either way.

I was just doing some obligatory, "Blue Mage is next," posting. Could be a tank. Could be a DPS. Could even be a healer. We'll have to wait and see, though I have no idea when or if it's coming.

I also saw this in the trailer and I don't know if it's part of the Ivalice story but to me it looks like a job crystal.

This is what caught my eye actually. It definitely looks like a job crystal, but for what job is anyone's guess really. It could be Geomancer, but as far as I am aware that symbol alone doesn't mean anything.

It's not a job crystal, it's auracite. It's tied to the Ivalice raids. If you haven't gone through the quests to unlock Rabanastre I'd definitely recommend you give it a whirl. But I digress...

We've already fought the Taurus Lucavi. Duma (aka Argath. Fun fact, Rofocales is also the Sagittarius Lucavi, so we won't be seeing Shemhazai). The robot is most likely one of the Worker mobs in FFT.



As for GEO, I think it may work well as a healer, or a support-based DPS (like BRD, in a way, or if AST was a DPS).

I wonder why people are so hype about GEO? It's thematically the same as CNJ, and lore-wise it's literally AST.

If we're going to get a new job, it's going to be something completely different in theme.
