    Would be a boring tank then, we already have dork knight as the "magic" tank, although not really magic anymore, let alone "fail Evasion" tank lmao.


    If anything it'll be a healer, that'll work maybe like the monk form changing for different effect or maybe like the AST card in conjunction with AOE healing/defense field.

    I bet Yoshi P is sitting at his computer right now, exclaiming at the screen, "THERE IS NO GEOMANCER!"

    But I do agree that seeing a Geomancer as a playable job someday would be cool.

    Clearly the next Tank will be Blue Mage and the next Healer will be Geomancer. They'll also add Dancer. No one knows what it does other than look really pretty in AF.

    Honestly doesn't mean much. That NPC essentially is a CNJ. tbh I didn't look at his weapon closely, but pretty sure he just wields a one handed CNJ weapon in battle. It wouldn't be the first time that they just used whatever was available in the game for an NPCs animations.

    Kind of like how if you start the game in Ul'dah and get Thancred as your Scion buddy, in the first "boss" fight he's a PLD. He uses Oaths. Cuz ROG wasn't actually thing yet when the game first came out.

    And Allisae is a RDM now, but she was animated like a PLD in HW cuz none of the RDM stuff was put in until SB.


    Besides those two examples, there are a bunch of NPCs that straight up break the rules too. Like the two Roes that show up in MCH quests that dual wield a bladed weapon in their left hand and a pistol in their right hand...

    Geo to me is too close to Astro. It is picking up steam lately with players wanting it for whatever reason, but we need a tank and healer, no more dps for next few expansions, lol
    Dancer and whatever next tank job will be would be awesome.

    The game doesn't need 6 more tanks/healers. What it needs is a way for certain roles (eg SMN/SCH) to be dual-roles with a single level leveling chart.

    So a Tank/Healer might be Geomancer, it might be Dancer, it doesn't matter, but if you equip the tank job stone, you get the tank kit, and if you equip the healer stone, you get the healer kit, but separate job storylines. Summoner/Scholar is only messed up by virtue of sharing the entire arcanist kit and gear up to a point, and then Scholar is split off, while Arcanist and Summoner are still separate entities with different pets. Without the pets as a common aspect, it's much easier to just give two separate jobs completely different level 1-50 kits that simply share the same skill mechanics but use different gear. But there is no point to doing this, and we're better off not trying to share anything at all. I just feel that the problem we need to solve is how to get people to have a "job" that covers both Tank and DPS roles like how scholar/summoner does Healer and DPS, and thus every player could minimally have one DPS/Tank/Healer role leveled without actually having to level three separate jobs.

    Anyway, at present, it's probably a given that Geomancer is going to be in the game, but I wouldn't put it past Yoshi-P to not do it, ask the Musketeer guild and the Shepard guilds still aren't in the game, and they were more than alluded to during V1.0, and the entire Rogue storyline alluded to a Musketeer class, and didn't make one.

    And as I said in the Healer's forums. I also wouldn't put it past Yoshi-P actually using the Geomancer from the AST storyline in exactly the same manner as Estinien in HW (who is introduced in the Dragoon job.) So Kyokuho may be put into the storyline for the next dungeon, even if no Geomancer job actually shows up.

    Before RDM was finished, Alisae (during the Warriors of Darkness battle) wielded a sword as a GLD/PLD would as opposed to how RDM does. She used PLD weapon skills like Fast Blade and Rage of Halone too. So if GEO was planned, they wouldn't spoil it by giving the GEO NPC a bell weapon and GEO spells. They'd do the same thing they did with Alisae and give the GEO existing spells that are similar, e.g. a wand and CNJ spells.

    This is a great way to branch out when they start running out of jobs yeah. Really want the Corsair/Pirate job from Limsa Lominsa.

    That's some warped logic there. Don't add RDm it'll just be another boring caster, don't add MCH it'll just be another boring ranged, Don't add SAM it'll just be another boring melee... see where I'm going with this.

    I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.
