Tomestone Gear Exchange for mispurchases.

Dunno if this is the place to suggest stuff, but I recently bought the wrong piece of equipment and it makes me wish that there was some sort of gear exchange. Like, to make it balanced, you could only make use of it once per week.

Accidentally buy the wrong thing? That's fine, just exchange it for an item of similar value.

Think there is a one-time only way to get it exchange if you call a GM. Enfasis on the one-time only portion.

The game gives you multiple warnings/checks to make sure that you are buying the correct piece of equipment. The onus is on you to do it correctly.

I'm sure the OP knows s/he should have been more careful. That doesn't change that a feature to exchange to another item of the same tome cost would be nice to have (not "needed", but "nice").

Anyway, while there isn't an option to exchange the gear for something else or back to poetics, you can exchange it for GC if you have no other use for the mispurchased gear.

I would add that you only have until you re-zone at the longest, or maybe like 5min, to be able to reverse your purchase.

While it has only happened to me once(bought Fending instead of Maiming back in HW), I can understand that it does happen to others, possibly, more often.

I purchased the wrong item once as well. And it was not a piece of gear, it was one of those items you use to upgrade gear, so obviously there was no warning for that. The game couldn’t have known I may have been musclicking. Yes, obviously we can be more careful, but mistakes happen, and it would be nice to have a feature like this. Luckily when it happened to me it was only poetics. It would have hurt a lot more to waste 500 mendacity.

So any kind of exchange is open to being abused, saying that, it's like if you buy something with Gil you can't trade it back, you can only sell for a small fraction of the original cost. Honestly it's more about being sure about your purchase before completing the transaction.

Which is where they could implement something similar to the "Buy Back" option when selling stuff to NPCs. The items(last 10) will stay there until you change zones, then it's gone forever. If they did that with purchases for Tomestones, then you could end up returning it for the item you actually wanted, without having used it.
