I think exaggerating the situation with hyperbole isn't the way to go about it honestly. Being paranoid over the what ifs and what if nots about an outfit that might be capable of doing that just builds an unnecessary amount of fear mongering among the general population, and honestly, I don't think they'd go that far. They could have done so ages ago with the first exclusive outfit, but didn't and at best, made the job skip potions which allow a player to get to 60 without any of the necessary grinding involved.
So, that's as close as we're going to get towards that and even WoW had those before XIV. It also helps that people who use the job skip potions aren't capable of being any more skilled than they were at level 1.
I find it hilarious that getting an EXP bonus to Level 30 is what constitutes as pay to win.
Good luck getting that +30% EXP on a crafter/gatherer when you're failing every craft/gather since due to lack of stats. Also the abuse you'll get hurled at you when you go into a dungeon wearing that.
There's more negatives attributed to the EXP bonus than you think. You're better off using the Friendship Circlet/Ala Mhigan Earrings/Warrior of Light Helm/Moogle Cap.

wow had 10 mil sub during wod launch, they had 5 mil 6 months later CLEARLY by now wow is done and closed RIGHT?
Also FYI you cannot compare to prime time wow since the time and market were much different than now, even players expectations
P.s. the reason that sub loss happened on wow is because they changed too much for the worse, be careful on what you wish for, the monkey paw analogy is actually a very good one

it was always going up and down between 500k and 850k, so nothing too special here.
and yeah the content formula is a real problem. but they mabye should fix that and make better content, instead of covering their failures and the loss in subs with more mog station income...
XIV ARR had sold 10m copies, 5% stay,
1.0 had sold 600k copies, 20k=3% stay,

and you didn't had to paid the sub in 1.0, it was F2P.
in V1.2x, the game was starting to charge month fee, I saw many returning players,
and no one was complaining the content was boring in 1.2x, & there was no cash shop.
even the most picky XI players, were starting to like XIV 1.2x.
I was a WOW player, but I like XIV 1.2x more than now
I am not asking ARR to go back to the 1.2x, or a more modern "XI easy version",route

For people commenting on the time between release of cash shop items, given that it is (to my awareness) random timing so far, ONE instance of a short time between releases shouldn’t be a concern. If we get more things two weeks after that, then it would look like the start of a pattern, and even then it might not be anything to worry about - particularly if it was another pre-existing costume, like that Korean exclusive set with the odd clipping issues on the skirt.

I have to say that I'd prefer all these cash shop items to be account unlocks rather than character unlocks.
But, we knew these items were coming...
All the region exclusives have been coming over. (Which I think is a good thing)
It wasn't that long ago that ANYTHING that gave you a boost in game and was acquired with cash was considered P2W. Then people started pushing the standard for what constitutes "P2W" back because it's bad and they don't want their game to be guilty of it. So, change the definition and invent new terms like "P2C" instead.
Considering how we're getting less content and it's taking longer to get it than in the past (except for cash shop items, which are booming in quantity and release frequency), is that really where the money is going? I highly doubt it. Some of it probably went into that nonsense phone app subscription system though.
