Mod users in FFXIV are getting out of control

You're right. The game is not real life. Neither is the internet, but cyber bullying harassment is an extreme case that happens everyday.

I thought a game was supposed to be fun and stressreleaver? Why are you getting worked up about it? When somebody harasses you they want you to get worked up about it, that's the sole reason they do that.
Instead put them on blacklist, report to a GM and carry on, smile and onwards to your next dungeon, raid, whatever you want to do in game.

Debate and diversity are the building blocks of a great community and are at the heart of what keeps things fresh and interesting. You are indeed correct that you have every right to express your concerns, but claiming that someone is rude and offensive because they don't agree is just wet.

As extra advice,

If somebody spams you with ERP talk, add to blacklist. You'll no longer see their messages.
If somebody harasses you take screenshots (very important) and you may want to NOT blacklist them immediately (so you have more screenshots of their talk and proof). Create a ticket and send in your proof, after that you can blacklist them.
From what I've heard, SE makes quite a big deal out of harassment, more then most others, and they will deal with it but you need to give them proof.

It sounds to me like you are one of those perverted freaks tbh. OP is just giving his opinion on a weird and uncomfortable activity that is going on in game. I don't ERP or RP so why should my character be the inspiration for someone to bust on? I saw some weirdo taking his clothes off infront of my retainer lmao while on camera mode or whatever that's called. I didn't care much about that I think he is a weirdo I need to avoid, but someone doing that to your character and posting it online is not ok. It is a game and it should be fun so if someone doesn't want someone like you to jerk off to their character then their decision should be respected. I think you and those ppl need help. It wouldn't be an issue if they wouldn't share the pictures. If that's what single guys in basements are into then they should keep it to themselves. I guess that's why dudes marry my little pony plushies lol ppl are too busy trying sexualize everything.
