    Any New Weaponskill Animations coming our way?DEV????

    I just saw the new video post for the upcomming lvl99 weaponskills in ff11 and it just makes it even more apparent how far behind the animations in this game are. 2 unique animations per melee class isnt cutting it. When will we get more? Will we have to wait till 2.0 or are there plans to introduce more up too the release of 2.0. Even tho most of the 11 animations are just hashed together older ws animations they are done well and they all stand out from each other. These star-wars lazer light effects arnt cutting it and it gets old fast seeing it on every new weaponskill animation that was introduced recently.

    I would hope that if they are axing numerous actions/spells/weaponskills; that the ones they keep would all have there own unique animation at some point.

    Somewhere they said they'd release some more animations in 1.21.

    1.20 is recycled animations for what best fits it.

    I know people say this a lot, but this applies greatly to your OP.

    Think of how old FFXI is. Now think how old FFXIV is.

    Also, FFXI has the luxury of being expanded upon more easily as it's not being redeveloped. It's something YOU KNOW FFXIV will be receiving in the future. At some point the game will depart from its restructuring and can only be expanded. At that time is the moment you should be more concerned with more of your flashy WS animations.

    Right now, yes, these things are still planned on being implemented prior to the official relaunch, but using FFXI as an example is a poor one. They are in two totally different places in the state of their development.

    man i remember way back in 2004 playing ffxi... first time i got Savage Blade, and Steel Cyclone, I was like /facepalm.

    You got to give it time for ffxiv. It'll will get better, call me optimistic but its how things work.

    I love the XI weaponskills.

    RoH, Simian (Seizure) Trash, Chaos Thrust, Storm's Path. All XI inspired.

    All I can say is something along the lines of 'moar boar wants moar'

    Although I agree that there needs to be more WS animations, I think SE needs to focus on fixing animation LOCK first. They did it with drawing/putting away weapons, so hopefully they can do something similar with other moves. They'll need to if they plan on implementing more fights like Ifrit, where running around at the right moments is key to success.

    I thought the same thing when I saw the new XI WS...they look so much better ; ; I'm not 100% certain but I think they said in 1.20 the animations are just going to be the same...but in 1.21 we will get some better ones.

    Pointless defense. If whatever was in ffxi should have been a basic STANDARD for ffxiv. XIV is in the stone age compared to XI which is so stupid that we all just don't want to believe it's true.

    Thanks for showing me the new xi weaponskills but it just made me so disappointed that xiv is THAT far behind. How unfortunate.
