Forum etiquette - double-posting vs separating ideas?

Yet, somehow you personally took offense to a generalization that is very true for this forum, and all unmoderated/loosely moderated forums on the internet, because you felt that I was attacking you, when I was describing the behavior of people who add nothing to the conversation, because there is no moderator.

I suppose I have to repeat myself: It was to give you a different perspective. Because you seem to negate such things when you start making blanket statements like “all westerners are jerks that like to have dick-measuring contests on online forums because they have to prove who is the biggest and the baddest”. It’s cute that you think you’ve offended me though. Please do quote where I said I was offended or felt personally attacked by your statement, though. I’ll admit that it irritated me because it shows massive ignorance (and arrogance) on your part. And I have very little patience for either. But I hardly felt “attacked” by you.



There are moderators for the NA forums; usually you see them post in the Technical Support section when people go there for assistance.

There are posts that are removed when reported, as well as users that are warned and banned for repeated reports. Mayhaps they aren’t as active as they are on JP forums; I wouldn’t know. I don’t frequent the JP forums. But moderation occurs when reports are submitted. If posters aren’t submitting reports, how are moderators—especially for a forum that is busy as this one can be sometimes—expected to moderate? Unless you expect them active read each and every thread every day. Such demands would probably be impossible.
