I wouldn't really care about irl gender as I wouldn't be looking for anything more than friendship. I also couldn't really care less what the other person's character looked like or it's gender, it would just be a matter of 2 people clicking or not.

Myself I don't mind, the wedding is for my character and not me. I wanted the mount though, and the shoes for glamour, that's about it.

Honestly, that's pretty predictable. And I mean nothing bad by it or anything of the sort. There are multiple reasons for that, but bringing some of them up at least could lead to a pointless argument, so I'll just say this.
Gamers are pretty even between male and female, yet many complain about most games supposedly catering to males. Ironically...even games largely designed by women. Consider that and you'll find out why it's not that surprising.
I'm the the bag of "don't want eternal bond at all", so I'll skip on the poll itself. That's not part of the poll, keh.

Most of the eternal bond's I've done have been purely for cosmetic reasons and a transaction between friends. They're usually joke moments that don't matter one bit after the fact once we have the items, and just some time to joke and play around. What their gender is IRL does not matter to me because I'm not and have never been attracted to any of them. Even then it doesn't concern me. I just want the items.
I think games do the "cater to males" thing because the common belief is still that women don't make up a big portion of the playerbase. So the assumption is that everyone is a male and the most money will be made if you focus on them. I never agreed with such an idea but it does still show in my opinion.
Also I did forget "I don't want Eternal Bond" lol. Don't know how. Silly me.
Based off of current results for males, the gap between "doesn't matter" and "require a female" is slowly closing while both "Require a male" and "Prefer a male are both rising.
For females, "doesn't matter" continues to grow and overtake all other options. "Prefer a female" is slowing increasing and is even with "require" and "prefer" male. "Require female" is still at just 2 votes interestingly. Lastly, the female vote ratio is slooowly increasing over time.

I married my real life wife on my main, but if I ever marry off any of my alts, the character I would be marrying to would have to be female. The person behind the character doesn't matter. I have my wife by my side, so I'm not looking for anything else beyond the bonding ceremony.

Before I EB'd, I wouldn't have cared. But now that I am EB'd to a girl, I prefer a female irl just because it has been a very relaxed and fun friendship unlike any I have ever had with a male. Sisters before misters and all that jazz.
I have never partaken in an EB ceremony before, but if I were to do so, it would be purely for the mount and cosmetics.
I'm not looking for romance, so gender wouldn't play a part in it for me.
:P
This all really depends on the context or intent...
If just for ports and convenience when hanging out:no preference; I have as much fun hanging out with the same gender as the opposite. If wanting someone to really get along with, maybe not in a romantic way, but in a way that feels faintly more committed and respectful (I'm going to be sure to log in at this time and try to cheer this person up and be cheered up by this person):matters a bit, simply because I get along a bit better in such ways with those of the opposite gender, and anyone I'd already be doing that for, whatever they're gender, I'm not going to wait until an EB to do that for.If actually wanting someone to at least mildly, ambiguously, maybe crush on while enjoying gaming together:matters a lot; though I'll certainly take intent interest in people of the same gender as friends, I only happen to get a crush on the opposite.
