    I think you miss a part of the 1.20 Loot change
    This is similar to the OP's suggestion, but we have decided to preserve the current drop rates for weapons and individual chests. And in addition to the reward weapon, we will introduce an item that can be traded to an NPC for a weapon. This new item will drop at a fixed rate, and will be loot list-tradable, so you will have an opportunity to pass it to another player. (Updated on 11/22, 6:45pm PST for clarity)

    The designs are outlandish and tacky but I like it. Reminds me of Christmas sweaters. It has it's own merit, but no one would say it's stylish.

    The only ones I don't like as much is the lance, bow, and the staff. The moogle for those weapons are less Incorporated into the weapons, and more of a tack on.

    The conjurer's wand, a white arum lily with a moogle in it, is still a tack on but at least it stands out apart from the rest of the conjurer's weapons even without the moogle.

    For example; The sword you see that the moogle wings are part of the design for the hilt of the sword (crossguard). You could also see the wings for the moogle for the pugilist weapon, and for the butt of the axe.

    I think its fine, lighthearted weapons for more than likely lighthearted content. Its a no brainer. It also is great seeing just how far they'll be able to go with items when a more serious tone is approached.

    long and short of it, its for fun and entertainment, get over it.

    EDIT> the engraving on the axe and design of the lance show just how far into details they'll be able to go.

    no i didn't i posted about that earlier in the thread. someone stated they didn't and i talked about the token. i added that part in there as a post later in the thread because i had not mentioned the /random. thank you for trying to correct me though even though it was not needed nor correct.

    if you can't follow the thread and try to correct someone let me enlighten you.

    1. someone stated the loot system wasn't being drastically changed this patch.
    2. someone else said it was and they were wrong.
    3. i posted that they were adding tokens, but the loot was still going directly to loot list.
    4. they asked for link.
    5. someone else posted link.
    6. i realized i had left out the part about random so posted on it and pointed out their finished changes were 2.0.

    now is that better?

    here's a recap:

    in 1.20 we are getting /random and tokens, but the weapons will still drop directly to your inventory list. the token can be traded to another player inside your party, but only while in your loot list. once it goes to your inventory it will not be allowed to be passed. the need greed system will be put in place in 2.0.

    the only reason i stated 2.0 before that you quoted is the person i had quoted was under the impression that the full drop changes were being made in 1.20. i was letting them know 2.0 is when the full system would be implemented including the need greed system.

    End game content is the last thing that needs to be worked on in my opinion. A waste of valuable resources that could be tackling much more important aspects of the game. Total smoke and mirror tactics if you ask me. Moogle weapons will not justify beginning monthly charges and unfortunately i think SE is going to figure this out the hard way. The amount of people that have left this game in the last 3 weeks is insane. 2-3 hours to form a party. I have experienced 10-30 minute intervals without shouts. Whats the point of adding inter-server game-play if the server doesn't even have 5 simultaneous parties going on at once. It is a Ghost town on the Besaid server. Moogle weapons are not going to get new players. Do what you can to keep the existing ones. Adding end of game content to an incomplete game does not make sense to me at all from a player or business standpoint. Work on the story line to draw the player in emotionally (most importantly add dubbing). That has always been the main reason I loved the Final Fantasy Series. This game is a giant preview. The patches are just adding to the preview not actually closing the main concerns of the players. The patches are desert, well i am ready to eat dinner.

    Yeah, I hate how they look, but I'm not going to whine to them to spend even more time making it look as nice and practical/powerful as the other weapons.

    So far, I really don't like the direction the endgame tier weapons are coming out as. I was attracted to this game partly because it hosted a beautiful and practical art direction. Swords looked like swords and armor looked like armor. It didn't need all those silly over the top belt and zipper designs Nomura has bothered me with. I was really happy to see a pragmatic fantasy game that wasn't completely brown and gritty so as any intricacies in a worldly design are muffled in the soup or drowning over saturated bright colors with wacky designs plastered everywhere to grab the attention of the ADD mind. I thought I finally found the perfect balance.

    HOWEVER, as much as I feel that these sort of weapons are damaging to the games aesthetic, I did agree to any drastic change and I'll let them get away with it as long as it means we're a step closer to a complete game. That's what's important. If it means getting a few suspiciously powerful gag weapons, then so be it.

    ADENDUM:

    I actually really like the axe. If the other weapons followed suit, I would have no problems with this set.
