Actually Quan(NM) is require for MSQ too. (even it was blue icon and can be unlocked before the quest line)

Your travels in the MSQ take you right by it since it's unlocked by Nedrick "the 2.0 side quest dungeon npc" Ironheart who stands right outside of the scion's headquarters in Vesper Bay, but the dungeon itself is entirely optional.

Just got out of a Rabanastre that Moro happened to be in! I didn't notice until the end so I didn't have the chance to say hello... We were in different alliances ;w;

During the last boss though, when he was around 0.5% hp and there are three people down in our alliance (my cohealer and two dps), one of the dps, a DRG, starts asking me in party chat to lb3 or start raising people-- which I ignore, because the boss is quite literally nearly dead and hopefully one of the living dps will use it to finish him off quickly. Even after he goes down, I continue to get insulted along the lines of "oh, it was crazy of me to think a healer would do their job!"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when the boss is quite literally has only a sliver of hp left, is it not better to contribute your dps? I can cast a lot of stones in the time it would take me to resurrect 3 people.

I joined that in progress while everyone was fighting Rofocale so I mostly just /cheer and /congratulate - ed my team xD

That Argath went pretty smoothly for my group (I think I raised like 2 people?) but I think on RDM I'm starting to outgear Rab a bit too much - I kept creeping up on that poor tank and no amount of Diversion/Lucid was helping. While you were being insulted by your group I was torn between throwing out a last melee combo or holding back because I know I still can't take a tankbuster on a caster in there ;-;

But that group! I'm sorry for you! I wish my party could have adopted you, we had a brand new healer that likely would have appreciated the help. Sounds like some of them didn't deserve those raises anyways.

I have a story of my own - did an o6s tonight because social complications lead to me not getting my clear earlier this week. Had a PLD friend with me and a really nice BRD and BLM joined up right away. I went as WHM. As people joined we all had a nice time in party chat, people were actually talking instead of just an "hey o/" when they joined.

We went in and after the first wipe instead of getting salty about things people complemented the BLM on their damage (whaaaaat?! Parsing people who aren't awful humans?) and the BLM apologized for forgetting Diversion.

We cleard on the third pull. It's the first time I've ever (successfully) healed that fight with a pug SCH. Really poor performance on my part frankly. It's one thing to see an AST throw down ES or the cast bar going for a heal on WHM/AST but with a SCH you just have to trust they're going to use Indom... it was hard. Our collective overheal was high. I never noticed this in any other content, even like Byakko EX, but I think I sort of prefer an AST cohealer at this point if I'm going to heal with a pug.

That is clearly not what anyone here is talking about. That is the memories tour that they released in the first patch to get everyone to do the content they released, but people skipped over. One of the quests is called "Better Late Than Sever" (never) after all.

No need to be sorry! I didn't catch onto what you were meaning when I first read it though. But yes, it would definitely be a worry (though also something of an achievement) if they somehow got *that* far as a gladiator!

Over the weekend got a weird comment while running my EX roulette. I went in as DRK, had WHM, MNK, and a caster or BRD(can't remember which). Ended up in Fractal HM.


Everything was going swiftly, no big problems(almost lost agro at one point, but boss has about 2% HP left and barely kept it - had dropped Grit around 80% HP remaining on it). Get to the very end, last pull before final boss, and one of the DPS pipes up that they keep hearing how DRK and WHM don't mesh well with Blood Price and Holy, but that we made it work super well(I honestly didn't notice anything different from my regular DRK ways...Salted Earth + Quietus when available to be able to spam Dark Arts + Abyssal Drain). With a WHM casting Holy on almost all the pulls, I typically don't throw Blood Price up until the third Holy hits the mobs and grants them immunity to stun anyways. It was definitely one of the smoother runs(even if I did accidentally not stun a few of the chimera AoEs due to hitting the wrong mob with it).

That was the first time someone had said anything about WHM and DRK not meshing too well due to those.

I think it's pretty sad that I'm having a hard time establishing the diffence between a bot and people and that sometimes the conclusive evidence is that not even bots are this blipping stupid/lazy. I always thought it was overblown, how squadrons perform better than most people in this game, but now I see that it's not farfetched. It's been a while since I decided to level a class to 70 on my own and I'm actually having a hard time not going full on Berserk against some of these people. I hate to sound so brutish, but it's disgusting how lazy people in this game are. This is just a general rant, as this is exactly what I need right now. Also, apparently aoeing is out of fashion. It's also out of fashion apparently to read your skills, or visit the Hall of Novice as a newbie, or wear appropriate gear. Ah yes, it seems that even though they made this game easier in general in Stormblood, the amount of stupidity surely hasn't gone down. That's the end of my rant.

In general, the lack of looking into the tool tips, AoE usage when appropriate, and paying attention to what's happening during the fights does seem to have gotten out of hand in recent months. Actually had two wipes in World of Darkness. And not on anything overly hard(first boss). Granted, two of the tanks were brand new to it, though neither one said anything until AFTER the second wipe(and some of the people were getting super salty in alliance chat, being overly rude). Not sure if the third tank(which ended up being replaced) was new to it as well, but when a WAR came in to fill that alliance, they said they would take over as MT.

Also watched 4-5 "mentors" who completely ignored mechanics(Mortal Gaze for instance) and would eat all AoEs, on ALL bosses.
