Wow, I did leveling roulette on tank and got one of the most stuck up healers you could ever get.

So the barrier goes down in aery and the healer stands around for a solid 10+ seconds. I am still waiting for protect. Fairy still isn't out yet (SCH). So I ask: Protect? And a few seconds later: Fairy?. They respond saying "Their bar is messed up" to paraphrase it, profanity was used.

Protect WAS used and we got underway but I didsingle pulls noticing something was wrong. They werent healing me, at all. This didnt kill me until the pulls after the first boss. I even used hallowed ground. They used physick so I know they can use it on me but they never did. Once I die they then use it on the dps monks. I say thusly:

(Me) Sassed? Expecting basic role functions is sassing?

So let me get this straight... Asking for protect and for their fairy is basically giving them a hard time? Expecting a healer to heal is sassing? Are people honestly this stu... oh forget it the answer is yes otherwise it wouldn't happen. Fastest penalty I ever took.

On 3 mobs fire 4 is more potency than fire 2 . . .

I am not sure, I was always told 3 + aoe rotation, regardless that was not the focus of the drama, as I explained the pull after you get the 4 walls they where doing the same thing, and there is around 7? It should also be noted it was very slow and no thunder was used in all 3 cases (first, wall, full pull before boss), 330-340 geared people go faster. Also the BLM did not say anything other then something completely not relating to the situation, so it was assumed trolling.

Doesn't hurt to try. If it fails then you can just leave like you would have before, and nothing was lost.

Look at it this way, the vote kick fails you can still leave. You have nothing to lose by trying.

I got my Lakshmi doggo recently in a lovely clear-turned-farm party in PF. Fond memories.

Got Lakshmi normal in trial roulette - made me think of the pleasant PF and dog acquisition.

We start the fight with no countdown, that's fine. I'm on RDM, I can adapt and this is a level 68 trial so I tell myself to not worry about it. I tank a fair bit of the second add - my first sign we might have same tank issues.

To his credit the new WAR MT seems to realize something is going wrong during the add phase, he proceeds to spam his threat combo in tank stance for the rest of the fight other than reapplying Storm's Eye. The 70 PLD OT though... nothing.

I'm a geared-ish RDM (mix of 350/360) and a not-bad one at that - I literally can't stay out of second place in threat. Diversion drops me down temporarily but I still hardly ever avoid the OT cleave. I bait it away like a good OT, I raise both healers and my other RDM, I put out what was good enough damage to hold second in threat aaaaaand at the end...

... the PLD gives me sass for my threat. "RDM dont expect tanks to spam threat combos to save you manage your hate" he said before leaving.

I will admit in the beginning of the fight I popped Lucid to get the add off of me so I didn't get much enmity management from that but I was using Diversion before every melee combo that it was up for. The tank was in around i300, easily undergeared by comparison but not to the point that he couldn't have held second against me if he had tried.

I don't mean to devalue tank dps - I'm a healer who understands and enjoys contributing damage as a support class - but I doubt whatever that PLD was putting out was enough to offset me dying even once to that psuedo-tankbuster. If he cared so much about optimization (again in a level 68 trial) then why would he risk my dps that he could tell was significant for the sake of his own?

Ugh. This is when I get annoyed with the 'meta'. When people who have no business caring about it want to use it as an excuse for their own poor play.

Figured that I might as well share this since I'm here. Went for another clear on V7S (I have a really bad happen about being stubborn, still trying to get my first clear a month later in PUGs). This was on Tuesday, prime time for experienced clearers and I went in as PLD. Everything was going pretty good - there were some deaths, but we recovered nicely through every mistake and pushed through the fight. Then came the very last mechanic before enrage - Guardian summons Ultros, he flies up, and the missiles start coming out. I'll pull Ultros to the opposite corner like I'm supposed to and I dodge every missile that comes near me.

Except the pair on my left, which I totally did not see while pulling Ultros. As a tank, the missile completely one-shotted me. And the main tank WAR. And the healers. And a DPS. Immediately after, the boss starts casting his enrage.

Feels bad. Oh, the feels. Never came close to enrage again after that.

That is the sign of a bad OT. Their job is literally to be in second threat, even in normal. All it would take that PLD is maybe 5 seconds to pop into Shield Oath, do enmity, then switch back into Sword. I'm not even sure why they would care about their deeps in regular trials anyways. It isn't as if they could pull the same crap off in Ex either.

The potency nerf to fire 2 messed with the perception of aoe for some BLMs, and did actually change the math a little. I would still tell anyone learning the class to aoe at 3 mobs, and st at 2(with exceptions possible in both cases). The correct aoe rotation(s) at 70 isnt just F2 spam. Actually, according to the math guys with just 3 targets you should be skipping F2s and only doing Flares. Something like B3 T4 B4 F3 Flare Flare(repeat from T4, add Fouls and procs where they wont mess up a timer). Youre taking advantage of the umbral heart mechanic to get 2 flares per mana bar with as few extra actions as possible and cycling through as quickly as possible(flare being roughly 1200 potency with 3 targets). They disagree(last i checked) on the exact number of mobs where adding in 2 F2s before the Flares is an advantage(its more then 3, less then 6 as i recall). Personally, i try to do the F2s anyway. Not because i think its the stone-cold best PPS i can manage. I do it for the psychology of the group. The others will feel better about big pulls seeing all those explosions. It also makes me look more active, as the short version has more waiting on mana tics.

Advanced aoe thoughts aside, yeah this guy was either trolling or lazy enough as to being almost carried. Not a good look.
