To be fair, there's precedent ever since 2.0 for fighting something in a 4-man and then later fighting it in an 8 or 24-man encounter. I fully believe it's possible we'll have to fight Genbu at some point in time in the future, but this time as his "full" strength self, likely to save his soul as we did with Byakko. Yojimbo as a 24-man would be hilarious if only to see 24 people running around to collect a literal storm of gil, but chances are he'll be an 8-man.

As for the 4.3 trial, I'm secretly hoping that Yotsuyu will pull a Tamamo-no-Gozen on us and turn out to be the vessel of a mighty kami. No idea which one, but it would go a long way to explaining how she survived after the collapse of Doma castle (above and beyond "special Garlean-made dress").

hasn't this prediction/precedent already occured with Diabolos and Ferdiad. We fought them in 4 man dungeons, and then later in Dun Scaith. It might happen again, but I can't think of any for this encounter... Although, Ironically Yojimbo fits this, lol.

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

Yes, along with Nidhogg (Aery and then Final Steps) and the original three primals (who were all 4-man trials before being turned into 8-mans for Hard and Extreme). I can't think of any others off hand, but SE has shown a willingness and ability to use bosses in more than one encounter before. It can definitely happen again.

Been away... not much for me to do in-game right now, and working 10+ hours every day but Sundays doesn't leave me with time for much more than Fire Emblem Heroes. (But hey, I got the sword version of The Reinhardt...)

Anyway, on topic, since we're dealing with Doma again, based on what was left hanging last time there are three immediately apparent possibilities in order of likelihood:

    1. Asahi - he's going to turn on us at some point.
    2. Yotsuyu - if she recovers her memories and hasn't moved on, who knows what she might do?
    3. Zenos - since he's apparently not dead anymore, it's... possible, but too early to reintroduce him to the narrative proper (in my opinion).

As a final idea, a primal incarnation of Tsukuyomi (the Japanese god of the moon) is something to consider as well. The patch title is "Under the Moonlight," as I recall only one of the Three Sacred Treasures (the Yasakani no Magatama) was used in Susano'o's summoning (meaning the Yata no Kagami - a mirror, of which one is in [Yo]Tsuyu's possession - is likely still out there), and the instance of Susano'o being summoned in the first place. If it turns out the mirror in [Yo]Tsuyu's possession is the Yata no Kagami, that opens the door for a lot of possibilities regarding Asahi's true intentions... but since that's unverified conjecture (and I'm too tired to bother checking whether the mirror was present during Susano'o's summoning), take it with a pinch of salt.

Basically, I'm throwing the idea that it could be Tsukuyomi and have a little bit of inference to back that up. Time will tell.

All three pieces of the Imperial Regalia were present during Susano'o's summoning. The sword, mirror, and jewel. If the mirror Yotsuyu possesses is the Yata no Kagami, it begs the question of how Asahi came to possess it, since it would mean a) raiding the Isle of Bekko, b) somehow convincing the Red Kojin to part with it, or c) having it be found among the items those Kojin that Yotsuyu slaughtered during 4.0 MSQ were moving around and somehow finding its way to him through some means or another. Convoluted to be sure. Possible that the sword and mirror present at Susano'o's summoning weren't part of the Imperial Regalia, I suppose, especially since I don't think they were ever named. Not like Stormblood's has been particularly gripping in its twists.

I imagine the trial's probably Zenos. Dealt with Nidhogg in 3.3 after all and they seem to be more or less following the same sort of pattern as Heavensward in terms of content. Plus apparently we're getting a big chunk of MSQ in 4.3. Enough that they're considering putting off the new Deep Dungeon because "too much content".

They're mercenary in nature, so it'd be a simple matter to hire them. Convince them to part with one of their treasures, which may or may not have had something to do with the manifestation of a kami no less, well...

Point taken - a mirror was present during Susano'o's summoning, and even if the Red Kojin traded it to Asahi for whatever reason, it will have lost its aetheric charge from Susano'o and be unsuitable for summoning Tsukuyomi. That said, it doesn't rule out the possibility of the mirror Asahi gave [Yo]Tsuyu being the Yata no Kagami, nor does it preclude the possibility of Tsukuyomi being the mystery boss.

I just don't want to go with the answer of "It's Zenos, obviously." That feels too easy for me, but I admittedly have a tendency to overcomplicate things.
