The Warcraft token system works where you buy the token for real money and sell it on the market board. Thus "buying" gil.

WoW get (until tomorrow...) the app for AH, and the token (and tomorrow only token) BUT except in the begining of new expansion, (darkmoon fair cards) the gold are useless to be op in raid (obliterium in legion? ... i had better stuff spamming mythic and raid that people full oblit)
Then, there is consumable, but their cost are fast really low, (around 5h playing a week, + follower work, and you get more than enough money to buy all of them for 3 raid evening... and this is if your guild dont use the feast.




on FFXIV side, there is only 2-3 week during at "omega" patches where gils are usefull to be op in raid. If FFXIv rethink the usefullness of crafters, this would disappear. And so, it would become as wow, money mainly for cosmetic, and consumable (i am not playing enough FFXIV now to know if raid consumable are high or low cost... )

But i tolerate the token in wow only because there is the cash shop, if there were only the account services, it would matters me a lot.


Other reason i dont cry against : the "real" RMT, they get a quite unfair oponent with this (as the leveling token cash shop)
And i prefer SE/WoW get the money from powerleveling or RMT that illegal site (and dont forget that there is not only the bots due to those sites... there is also account hacking)
Some MMORPG are beter to hunt bot than others. But there is always RMT, except... BDO... where there is no way to do it. (i you find a RMT or item selling for real life money about BDO = you will never get what you pay... dont hope) Those things make the money to the company, and is a real matter for the illegal site. Bad thing for good things we say in french.

Not i think it is fine, but with the cash shop (that SHOULDNT EXIST) i think it is not a tragedy.

It would be, yes, because you are buying a clear for the latest content, and with real money. Though that is another issue in and of itself and really doesn't have much of a bearing on the current discussion over the app and SE supporting gil selling.

When is the time that you can make the MOST GIL in less time in this game? Raid Patch. This is the moment where the most gil is circulating in the market board. Actually with that app you could actually amass millions of gil to spend them later for free clears.

So basically what you're suggesting is that players will get an advantage on the market board for Moogle coins....

...except, I believe it was said that the free version only allows you 1 market action whereas the premium allows 2 market actions, and these are per day. Unless information changes somehow. This is not a game changer for the market board. Perhaps with alt accounts with 8-9 retainers each, and that'll probably happen, but I'm still not seeing the point that you are trying to make.

As a person who used to sell raid runs, the buyers only gets a page for their clear. They don't get loot because the majority cleared. The only possible scenario is after the raid goes irrelevant. In the case of UCoB, people buy that with real money, which happens outside the game. Ultimately, the app will have limitations, so I don't know if you'll have full control over the price changes and whatnot.

Do you realize how much gil you need for that? Extra retainers can only do so much, and I doubt that if they ever implement gil selling in the Mogstation, people would spend several hundred dollars for a savage clear (and if they do, it's gonna be an extreme minority). These people invested most of the time either crafting/gathering or botting like hell. Or using RMT services for gil. Like both Kaivac and myself said, the app will have limitations in regards of how many actions you can take in the marketboard, which you seemed to have ignored. In regards of the weapon, that's not even the best weapon, being the O8S the best one for most classes. Following your logic, it would need 8 weeks for that, and that's a shit ton of gil.

Is it p2w if I can get a 2nd sub, play through story and give all the mats/materia and the 1.2 Mio. gil to my main on the other account?
While also buying a 2nd personal house for my main I can port to and also using 8x2 additional retainers for sells?

And if I use my PS4 and my PC I can even craft 2x more stuff, without needing to do some multi-boxing (grey area). (Gear and leve-items to level come from my main, ez).

I know it's a bit complicated, but i don't think that matters at all when you look at the definitions her (any advantage because of paying more than base sub).
