Live Letter translations on Twitter are not acceptable

Well im not going to comment on the translation part of this but in general the use of forums in general and not just for this game has been dying for a long time.
Most people dont look at forums.They check for info on facebook,Twitter and Reddit.
Infact Reddit has carried more weight in terms of voiced opinions on this game since it was released.
I know forum users dont want to accept they are the minority but the truth is you are.
Consider yourselves lucky that SE even accept questions still off the forums for live letter.

I honestly enjoy the live letters much more so than the trailers. For me the live letters create some serious hype about upcoming content.

Companies are not my friends, I do not want to interact with and follow/like them over social media. And I especially should not have to sign up to Twitter to get the latest dribbles that they are willing to give us.

Actually you would be wrong on this, Twitter was made for this intention, of course this generation once again took social media and made it a damn popularity contest and keeping in touch with friends.

I love live letters, we get to learn a lot about what's coming up.

(Though maybe if they didn't do it, we wouldn't get so hyped - and then so disappointed)

Here's a list of what I learned about the upcoming 4.3/4.35 from the live letter (admittedly with unofficial translations and my own japanese understanding helping to flesh things out until the digest is released):
Release: Late May 2018 (yay in 5-6 weeks).
New MSQ. (I wanna know what happens next dammit)
New Sidequests (4 lords, Doman reconstruction,Hildibrand).
New instances (1 dungeon, 1 trial , 1 extreme trial , 1 ultimate, alliance raid, deep dungeon lvl 60+ 100 floors, Eureka Pagos - so much! And the new deep dungeon being difficult starting on floor 31 makes me wonder what type of difficulty this will be!).
Raid roulette with Alexander raids.
Beast Tribe (Namazu - crafting and gathering).
New custom deliveries NPC. Crafting/gathering side story related to alliance raid somehow (sounds interesting).
Glamour updates: can reclaim items from glamour dresser.
Job adjustments: DRK, SAM, AST (curious about that last one. I hope it's a weak instant damage spell similar to SCH ruin II so we have a real option for weaving our 15 ogcds when no hot/dot need refreshing and lightspeed isn't up).
Housing update: guestbook, mannequin.
Crossworld linkshell.
Companion app for inventory management is pretty much done except for issues regarding android.

most of those, we already knew,, even before there was live letter announced. and this is for 4.4 :

2 new dongeons
New omega raid with 4 boss (the lasts, and with 2 difficulty mode)
New eureka area
New MSQ
new hildibrand
new primal Xtrem
30 new ilvl to get

new cosmetic craft
new rewards with red-craft/gathere shit
new memoquartz

Most of what Live Letter announce are already known, except the name themselves... (that i dont care... i have concern about what it is speciffically when i play, not 1 month before... )


And before there were CM that does a compact list of what was said, 1 thing = 1 post. it was lets say 3 or 4 hour work to pay... too much? the cash shop doesnt give enough money?

Erm... I don't know, cause that kind of defeats the purpose of live streaming? I understand the fact that they require time to translate and check through their works, but requiring weeks to do so is taking far too long imo. This also doesn't really change the fact that moving whatever they already had to twitter does raise an eyebrow. Why go to a third party website to check for news when you already have a fine working forum on your own website?

That would make the whole we lack communications point moot, since that could imply we don't care about infos.

The problem is that we don't have access to the informations regardless of their nature.
Also pls think about the fact that without LL we would've not known the horrible app premium thing.

..I usually make time to catch the LL since that's kinda the whole point behind live streaming...

Which I did. I enjoy watching Live Letter quite a few bit. It feels like the developer team is taking the extra step to attempt to connect with the players and I respect them for that. I get a little worried and silently hope they will get well soon when Yoshi-P and co. appears to be exhausted on the stream (Yoshi-P from time to time and Koji during one of the fanfeast appears to be a little grumpier than usual). I like how their eye sparkle and get excited when they talk about a new upcoming feature (especially the UI team lead, he got really passionate talking about the X-hotbar if I remember correctly). I get more hype than usual when watching the LL... live for the same reason other people enjoy live streaming more than pre-recorded streams.

With that said, sometimes watching it live is simply not an option for some (due to daily activity and/or timezone difference) and for others the language barrier might be an issue. In that case, a recorded copy of the stream and official translation would be the best first party source. So... for some reason they decided to move the translation to twitter out of nowhere when they have a fully working website and forum? I mean it's not that big a deal for me since I stopped watching the LL but the whole thing still feels kinda weird to me at least. If someone argue that they are going to twitter for higher exposure, SE could still stick the live translation on the forums and just copy pasta to twitter instead.

TL;DR: shifting the translation to twitter aren't a big issue to me, just find it odd.

Especially since a big part of it feels like advertisement. Honestly they could just cut at least half the live letters and we would probably not miss much. Wont talk about the job changes before the patch, we did not get a single information about the changes to the new Eureka, instead of posting at least one teaser picture about the inside of the deep dungeon we got two pictures from outside..and lots of time is often used to advertise something like the app..

For me one big post with some teaser for every language would be enough. Would also give Yoshida a bit of a break since he needs to be there for those liveletters..

Because a lot of the importan informations are said by Yoshida himself and if you dont understand japanese you might still miss a lot.

Is it really too much to ask for, that the devs give our community manager all the important informations before the liveletter so that it can go live shortly after that?
