Doesn't the digest usually arrive (give and take) a week or far longer after the LL stream though? I could be wrong since I usually make time to catch the LL since that's kinda the whole point behind live streaming...

Yeah and?
If they recorded and posted a non-live video afterwards with english subs, that'd take a week or so too.
The last few live letters we actually had stuff on forums within 24 hours (which were edited and expanded over several days)
They also stated in the forums that one of the reasons why it takes longer than unofficial translations is because they double check their translations with the dev team to make sure it's accurate.
If an unofficial translator gets something wrong, it's "oh well". If SE community team gets a translation wrong, there'll be backlash. It makes sense to take a bit of extra time to get it right.
It's only been 6 hours (since the live letter started..not even since it ended), let's wait until it's 24 hours before we cry foul?

Erm... I don't know, cause that kind of defeats the purpose of live streaming? I understand the fact that they require time to translate and check through their works, but requiring weeks to do so is taking far too long imo. This also doesn't really change the fact that moving whatever they already had to twitter does raise an eyebrow. Why go to a third party website to check for news when you already have a fine working forum on your own website?Yeah and?

It clogs up the tracker on the main page. I have seen people complain about them using the forums for the live letters because it's messy in its own ways too.Erm... Making a thread where the OP complains and curses without stating what the alternative (didn't even mention they wanted it back in the forums) isn't really very good feedback.
Personally I'd prefer they move it to a blogging platform (and just keep editing their post) over twitter. This is how other gaming websites do live updates for conventions like E3 and is much nicer than using twitter or clogging up the forum's dev tracker.

Only reason for doing this is that it costs less. I doubt that "getting the word out better" is a factor in this case.
Happiness is manditory.
Not being happy is treason.

I'm not here to pay the Remaster of FFVII.

If this is correct, that's something, I suppose. Still not exactly happy about it though; it leaves a long lead time between the fan translations and official details. We're still getting the digest (which they now aim to have done quicker, instead of 2-4 weeks after), which is the in-depth and more accurate translation than even the official version they've done during the LL until now.
Still annoying, but we aren't being completely dropped here.

Having to rely on a third party for a translation is utterly unacceptable. Translations should be available in every language the game client can be played in. This is only going to increase the feeling that non-jp players are second class players. If they can't do it live, at least have the transcript or the slides ready to post in a thread afterwards. Don't even care if the Q&A portion isn't there right away. At least the patch information. Not having official information and having to use second hand info is a bummer.

They should just pre-record the thing and put in subtitles. Like how Nintendo does their "Nintendo direct" videos. No one usually watches them live anyway because it's either too early in the morning or have to be at work, etc.
I mean, they could just save themselves the time and not bother doing live letters at all....
